"Blaine, where the hell did you disappear to?" Thad mumbled, making his way down the halls.
He looked in the library last, immediately freezing in his tracks. Nobody ever went in the library.
Except Blaine and Kurt, apparently.
Kurt turned on his heel and walked out, not even noticing Thad. Blaine did after a minute, though.
His eyes widened, looking like a child caught stealing sweets. Thad raised an eyebrow, walking towards him. "I was trying to find where you disappeared to. Care to explain what that was?"
"Nothing," Blaine mumbled, looking away.
Thad jokingly smacked his shoulder. "Dude, you just kissed the guy you've been obsessing about since Halloween."
"I said it's nothing," Blaine repeated through clenched teeth.
His smirk fell into a worried frown. "Hey, are you okay? Normally you'd be psyched about something like that."
Blaine sighed. "That was a kiss that felt right but happened for all the wrong reasons. It's hardly even a kiss."
"Why did it happen?" Thad asked curiously.
"It's... I can't tell you that." It hurt Blaine to so much as say the words.
There was a pause. A pause, as if Thad was waiting for him to say 'just kidding,' or 'you should've seen the look on your face.'
He didn't.
Thad looked shocked, and mildly offended. "Blaine, we tell each other everything."
"I know, I just... I can't tell you this."
Forget mild. "Really? You can't tell me that? After all I've told you, you can't tell me why you kissed someone?"
"Thad, it's not-"
"It's not what? It's not what it seems? Because it sure as hell seems like it."
"Please, just-"
"Just listen? I thought you couldn't tell me. Just trust you? Blindly trust you like always?" Thad started to leave.
Blaine stopped him. He couldn't help it. He couldn't do that to Thad.
"I blackmailed him."
Thad stopped in his tracks. Blaine held his breath, not sure what to expect.
He didn't even turn around. "You have information about him that he didn't want anyone to know, so you blackmailed him?"
That's when Blaine realized he had made a horrible mistake, heart sinking. "Thad, I didn't-"
"You have information about him that he didn't want anyone to know, so you threatened to tell everyone if he didn't do something for you?"
"Thad, please, I wouldn't-"
Thad turned to him, throwing his hands out in exasperation. "Well, look at this! If Kurt Hummel, the boy you're infatuated with, isn't safe, then nobody is! We're all doomed because you finally came out as a manipulative bitch!"
"Thad, you know I'd never do that to you-"
"Do I? Do I really? I mean, come on! You have such good dirt on me! Somehow you convinced me to tell you absolutely everything!"
"I'd never-"
"Go fuck yourself, Blaine," Thad spat. "I don't want to so much as look at you until one of us dies. And the way this is going, it's going to be me."
"Thad, I- Thad, please!" Blaine called after him, but he was gone.
Blaine had never felt worse in his life. It wasn't just because he had lost Thad's trust.
He... He wouldn't do anything, would he? If Blaine didn't say anything, surely he wouldn't do anything. Right?
He knew that Thad had a thick outer shell. Walls up on all sides. He could tell that when Thad was yelling at him that he was forcing himself not to cry. When he felt sad, betrayed, or anything negative, he covered it up with another emotion.
Blaine knew he'd really fucked up this time.
