"Welcome to the music room," Sebastian said grandly.

Kurt looked around in wonder. "Isn't this an a cappella school?"

"It is. That's why this is a great place to escape, because nobody's ever in here. I don't think they know students still have access to here, since you can connect the microphones to the PA system."

"It looks like a recording studio," Kurt said.

Sebastian nodded. "I think it was at one point."

Kurt grinned. "Well? Get behind the glass. I want to see what you can do."

Sebastian laughed. "Oh no, I can't."

"Come on, it's just us."

"Fine." Sebastian opened the door, closing it behind him. He coughed. "God, I always forget how dusty it is in here."

Kurt flicked on a switch labeled lights, lighting up the booth.

Sebastian looked up at the ceiling. "Oh, that's better. I didn't know you could turn those on." He looked over at Kurt. "Could you play track five?"

Kurt nodded, flicking to the track. Sebastian put on a pair of headphones, standing behind the microphone. "It's so weird to have another person here."

Kurt pressed his mic button so Sebastian could hear him. "Pretend I'm not even here. Ready?"

Sebastian gave him a thumbs up, and Kurt started the track.

Sebastian closed his eyes, pretending he was alone. Just him, singing for himself.

Yeah, I'd rather be a lover than a fighter
'Cause all my life, I've been fighting
Never felt a feeling of comfort
All this time, I've been hiding

Kurt was immediately spellbound by his voice. It was otherworldly.

He just sat and watched as Sebastian sang, disappointed when he got to the last verse.

I've been quiet for too long
I've been quiet for too long
I found peace in your violence
Can't tell me there's no point in trying
I'm at one, and I've been quiet for too long

Sebastian opened his eyes. "That was good? Yeah?" he asked nervously.

Kurt came on the mic. "You have the voice of an angel."

Sebastian blushed. "So it was good?"

"It was fantastic. What else is on here?"

"I've practiced pretty much all of the tracks, so you can pick anything. Track eight isn't good, though."

"Why not?" Kurt asked curiously.

Sebastian blushed. "It's just cheesy."

Kurt looked at track eight as if he could tell what song it is. "What genre is it?"

"Broadway. But I can't sing it."

"Oh my god, what play?!" Kurt exclaimed, excited. "And what do you mean, you can't sing it?"

"It's a duet. Um, Two-Player Game from Be More Chill." Sebastian rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

Kurt stood up. "Okay, there's so speaking parts at the beginning, so there should be enough time. You take Jeremy."

"What?"

"I'm singing this with you."
