~Somewhere~

"Get me some water..." a creature in a dark cloak ordered and then returned to his reading.

The creature was reading a book about a certain person. Actually, it was more of a thing.

'Someone can only wield the Forever Sword if they are truly and completely worthy of it. They say that the person must have been patient, courageous, outgoing, yet calm. There are many people who have tried to wield the Forever Sword, but none succeeded.'

"Hmph. Of course not..." the creature said, sitting in a strange position, and the beings that served him looked on in confused looks. "Sir, do you wish to be alone...?" "Shut up. Just do what you're supposed to." the creature instructed and went back to reading.

'Most people, of course, wanted to wield the sword for their own greed and power. We commonly knew that the Forever Sword could make any planet fall at the mercy of its master. For a long time, it was thought that none was worthy of this sacred sword, giving it refused all people who came to it. That was until-'

"Sir, we have some ne-" "Be stop bothering me. I'll listen to what you have to say after I finish!" the annoyed being demanded, making the other monsters cower, frightened, and he finished the paragraph.

'That was until a young girl was being chased by the Forever Sword. I must say, it was truly an incredible sight! And from what information I gathered, I can tell you this much.'

~Flash Back~

A young girl silently made her way into her favourite library, ignoring the glares and stares that people were shooting right at her.

"Good morning, young one! How are you?" an old man asked kindly, acknowledging the girl's presence. "Just fine, Sir..." the girl responded, looking at him with a small smile, and then making her way over to a bookshelf after returning around six books.

Beginning to already become allured to the fascinating books just lined on the shelves, the girl picked up a particular one, and eyed the time. '7:34...' she thought and then began reading.

After a while, she turned the fifteenth page and started reading the sixteenth. "Wow..." she breathed, running her hand down the illustrated page that took up the whole of the next page. There was an image of a sword in the middle, and it was floating upon a pedestal, surrounded by a flashing- almost realistic- emerald-green light.

The girl turned the book and looked for the author and illustrator of this breath-taking book. But she couldn't find the author- not even the illustrator! Sighing, she turned back to the page, and started reading all about this magnificent sword.

'The image you see on the opposite page is the magnificent Forever Sword. It grants limitless power to the one who wields it. Many have come and gone to try to wield it, but none have ever found out its true location. It shall only appear to the one who seems worthy.'

The girl read on and looked at the time a couple minutes later. Sighing, she got up, and brought the book over to the librarian who nodded slightly, and the girl was confused, "Aren't you going to stamp it...?" she asked, and the librarian laughed quietly, "This is an extremely special book. You cannot stamp it." he replied, and then the girl left, utterly confused now.

~Timeskip~

"Dear, are you home yet?" a woman called her daughter, "Yes, mother..." the girl replied, leaving the book on a rather tall table. She ran to the next room, and her mother smiled, "Would you like to eat anything...?" "No, thank you." the girl went back to the other room, and was a bit tingly when she found the book open again. And on the page she was reading!

"Strange..."she mumbled, but shrugged it off. She carried the book along with her everywhere and took special care of it. She always looked after books, returning them in the exact same condition she had borrowed them, and one day, she was in for a surprise.

It had been weeks later, and she still hadn't finished her book yet, since her mother had to get some treatment because there was a disease spreading around all the adults. The girl had been doing- her own chores, which were very few- but she now fulfilled everything her mother would do, since her mother had to stay in the hospital to get checked for any symptoms or infections.

One day, the girl squeezed in five minutes of reading. She sat on the garden bench, and listened to the birds and squirrels that landed near her, and she gently put a bowl of seeds, and a bowl of acorns down. She always did this for these particular animals, as they didn't really have much food to find.

Opening the book, she yawned out of exhaustion and began reading. She finally finished the chapter, and when she did, she heard a small yell. She immediately got up, and out of habit, she looked behind her. She was extremely paranoid at times, because she was always made fun of, and people stalked her to mock her.

But when she noticed no one was there, she was confused, and then noticed a small puffball, just younger than her, on the floor. Alarmed, she went over to it, and then it got up. "Are you ok?" she asked, and then the puffball put their arm up, crying. They explained, "I was just walking down the street, and tripped over something..."

"Oh. You'll be fine." the girl assured, noticing it was a slight cut on the hand. She ran inside to get a plaster, and when she returned, she placed it lightly on top of the cut. Smiling, the younger puffball hugged her, making her tense, "Thank you so so much!" they said, and ran off happily.

"*Gasp* Jasper! What were you doing there?!" a woman asked her son, who pointed at the girl, "I tripped and she helped me, see!" he said, showing his mother the plaster, and his mother looked at her son protectively, "Jasper, you don't know if that girl is nice or mean. She could've hurt you!" she scolded, and the girl wanted to facepalm when she saw the woman's belonging on the floor.

'That's what the boy tripped over...' she wondered, and went to hand it over to the woman, who immediately stepped in front of her son, "What do you want?" she asked, suspiciously, since she sort of knew this girl, but everyone knew who she was. Almost everyone, anyway.

"I think this belongs to you... Miss..." the girl handed over a small object, and the woman flushed, embarrassed. "Hmph!" she said, ushering her son ahead and walking off with him. The girl sighed and returned to the garden.

She went inside with the two bowls she'd left out and picked up the book. Placing the bowls on the table, she was about to put the book on a shelf, but it shined green! Covering her eyes from the blinding light, the girl yelped and leapt backwards, dropping the book on the ground.

"Evening, Master..." a voice said, and the girl looked around, no one was there... "In front, Master." the gentle but stern voice said, and the girl looked in front. "W-Who are you?! A-Aren't you in the book?!" she quivered, scared. "I was. Until you freed me!" the majestic sword responded.

"W-What?" the girl asked, still shivering, and the sword came closer, "You freed me from that book. You are my Master... Master..." the sword said the last bit awkwardly, and then the girl took a couple steps back. "Don't be afraid, Master!" the sword said, going after her, and then it became a chase!

The girl rushed past so many people in a blur! The others laughed and snorted in amusement when she saw her running away from a floating sword, and they started following slowly, wanting to see what would happen next. "Master, do not be afraid!" the sword glowed, and the girl was back up against a wall.

"We always knew you were weird!" someone from the crowd laughed, causing everyone to burst into laughter, and the sword faced them, "Do not call Master weird! I have seen the way you have treated Master! She is superior to all of you! Do you not know who I am?! I am the Forever Sword!" it's voice became one hundred times louder, and everyone fell silent.
