Izuku's mindscape

Izuku was laying down on the ground when he woke up abruptly before quickly getting into a sitting position. He then rubbed his head and complained out loud that it hurt before he then opened his eyes only to be bewildered by his whereabouts.

He was in an open area, there was nothing around him as far as the eye could see, and every time the ground beneath him was touched it resulted in a tiny water ripple, making it look like that he was standing on an ocean, which he also noticed was emitting a faint green colored glow.

The glow emitted from the ground was also the thing that brought light into the dark space that was surrounding him. After standing up Izuku looked around a little more before stating in a disappointed tone "Am I dead? Is this afterlife?" Knowing full well that there was no one there to answer his question, he started aimlessly wandering deeper into the emptiness of the area that he was in.

Before he knew it a day turned into a week, and the time didn't pass easily since he constantly kept hearing an echo in the endless void, they were telling him 'You're weak', 'You're useless', 'You're nothing' he ignored them, but subconsciously they were slowly deteriorate his emotional state.

Izuku had already been aimlessly walking for a few weeks now, and his emotional state got worse day after day, due to the echoes making him feel pain, unwanted, sadness, loneliness, ect. It reminded him of the time when his life was only filled with those emotions, specifically when he used to live with his biological family, who made him feel this way for almost all his life.

But he had no idea that isolation could feel so lonely. He quickly understood that this loneliness felt worse, since he couldn't be with those that had shown him nothing but love and affection, those who had healed all of his pain and loneliness that had haunted him for years, and those people were his adoptive family.

The thought brought him an extreme amount of pain to his chest or to be more precise his heart, he tried to shrug it off and keep walking but pain only kept getting worse the more lonely he felt.

Those weeks of wandering had already turned to a month, and all of those negative emotions had finally made him have a breakdown, he fell to his knees and started to cry, to sob, to yell out loud into the empty void but nothing happened.

Izuku couldn't handle all of the pain anymore, so he straightened out his left arm in front of him before pointing his hand towards his chest. He gathered all of the strength he had left and with a swift motion he impaled his chest with his hand, making him cough out blood as a result.

He moved his hand deeper into his chest until he felt his heart, he grabbed around his heart after feeling it was and with a quick movement he pulled it out. He was now sitting on his knees while holding his still beating heart before thinking "Heh the irony. It seems that I can't even give up when I want to."

Izuku angrily stood up before pulling the hand that was holding his breathing heart backwards. He was about to throw the heart away when he suddenly felt a calming warmth against his left hand.

The suddenness of these feelings surprised him but he quickly recognized it, it was as if Toga was holding his arm and sharing her love with him. Her warmth made Izuku fall to his knees as he started to cry out again, while holding his still beating heart in his left palm.

A pair of almost see-through hands appeared in front of him, there was also a faint yellow glow emitting from them, but he didn't need to see the color to know that these hands were Toga's.

They were holding his left hand tightly which only made him cry more, and as he was crying he could hear Toga whisper into his ear 'I love you so much', 'I'll never let this happen again', 'I'll be back soon', etc.

As she was whispering heartfelt things to him, she was also guiding his hand towards his chest, returning his heart where it previously was. When those whispers stopped he could feel her soft lips give him a kiss, after that her presence fully disappeared making him look down to his hand that could still feel her lingering touch.

Suddenly, Izuku could also feel Tobirama's presence before hearing Tobirama's sad but proud voice telling him 'Don't you worry, I'll protect her for you.' which made Izuku happy, since he knew that even though he was gone, someone was still looking out for Toga for him.

Then he felt Tobirama's warm hand ruffle his hair before hearing him say 'And even if Madara won't say it then I will. We're all worried for you, so please wake up soon, we miss you a lot.' and before he knew it Tobirama's presence was also gone.

Tobirama's words struck Izuku deep as he thought to himself 'How could I be so selfish and give in so easily' as he stood up he saw that his chest was fully healed and he thought to himself 'I can't keep them waiting much longer' after that thought he took a step forward and continued walking.

That one painful month quickly ended up turning into months of endless struggle. He was still aimlessly wandering around, not knowing where he was going only knowing that he needed to be somewhere. He was still hearing echoes day in and day out telling him 'to give up', 'to stop', 'to accept his death', 'to quit', etc.

He would also every now and then hear or feel his family motivating him forward. He'd already lost count of how many times he wanted to give up, but every time he felt like that he could also feel their warmth and their voices, pushing him forward and motivating him to never surrender.

Izuku would sometimes take a break or even lay down to sleep, he couldn't actually fall asleep but it helped him to keep his sanity. Since every time he did it, he could see his past memories with the family that loved him, which helped push him forward and submit to the darkness.

He'd early on figured out that his jutsu's and chakra abilities didn't work wherever he was. While lying on the ground he thought about how he'd lost count of how long he'd been there, he vaguely remembers that after about 6 month he'd lost count, but if he would've had to guess then it would be around 9 if not 10 months now.

It was just another day of wandering for Izuku, but then suddenly he heard a clear and unknown voice coming from behind him "Why have you come seeking me young one?" Hearing this question made Izuku turn around to look towards where the voice was coming from.

He became shocked when he looked at the person who had asked him a question. The older male before him had pale skin and his hair was spiky, shoulder-length, pale brown colored, with a chin-length braided lock hanging in front of his left ear, he also had a goatee which reached down to his waist.

Both of the older males eyes had the Rinnegan dojutsu, and on his forehead there was a red like eye which resembled a Sharingan for Izuku. The older male was also wearing a white, full-length kimono with a pattern of six black magatama around a high collar.
