Kanza kept looking back at Ava, she seemed to be getting weaker as Jordan cradled her in his arms. He was constantly looking down at her, with a bit of worry on his face.Kanza held on tightly to Peters shirt for stability. They ventured quite a distance, into territory that was completely new to her. The humans were capable of building some pretty amazing structures. Some of it was actually beautiful.
Nonetheless it was still very dangerous. The smell of cats, dogs and rats was potent. The loud buzzing of human vehicles and machines muffled the crisp senses she had in the wild. Every now and then a wiff of something tasty wafted into her nostrils and made her hungry. What ever the humans ate was far better smelling and tasting.
"There." Said Peter, pointing to a large pharmacy on a busy street. "I can get something to treat her wounds." Kanza didn't look, she was turned the other way looking at Jordan's face. He looked very concerned. Kanza felt a wave of worry.
Jordan had her cradled tightly, protecting her as best he could from the elements. Ava was in a deep sleep, and her body had gone limp.
Jordan slowly brought her forward so that she openly rested on his palms. Her body was pale, and she didn't wake."Ava?" Jordan nudged, as he began to tear up. "Oh no...Ava...?!" He shook her a little out of worry.
"Don't!" Peter immediately snapped as he put his hands under Jordan's, trying to calm him.
Jordan looked up with worried eyes, "What's wrong!?" He asked. Hoping Peter would know.
Kanza jumped down into Jordan's hands next to Ava. She felt clamy and her heart was racing. Peter remained calm as he sighed heavily.
"Let me see her." He asked
Jordan didn't protest. He carefully transferred Ava into his palms. Kanza jumped up onto peters shoulder so she could get a better view. Peter began to carefully unwrap her bandage on her thigh. The wound was surrounded by dark colored veins and looked far from better.
"I was afraid of this." He said, still calm, but clearly worried.
"Is she going to be okay?" Jordan asked, grimacing.
"She needs antibiotics...like...now." Peter replied sharply.
Kanza gripped Peters shirt nervously. He sensed her tension. "She's going to be alright, don't you worry." His voice was relaxed and he sounded confident, which made her relax a little.
Jordan was quiet. He looked at Ava intensely, then Peter.
Their eyes locked for a moment, an unspoken word was spoke between them.
"What do I need to do?" Jordan asked hastily.
"Well... they aren't going to just give you them without a prescription..." Peter started.
"Got it!" Jordan said as he positioned his gun, stood and proceeded to head to the pharmacy. But before he could go anywhere Peter grabbed his arm. "Wait!" He said.
Peter looked around, they were in a small ally between two buildings, out of public sight.
"...I think I have an idea." Said Peter.
As his eyes swiveled in Kansas' direction........Oh no....
