When will I feel this

As vivid as it truly is

Fall in love in a single touch

And fall apart when it hurts

too much.

Cain POV:

It was quiet tonight. The grass was dewy from the morning's light rain, I only lay upon it with my black and red striped pajama pants and loose white shirt.

I could feel the droplets soak into my back as I gazed up at the moon, but I couldn't find it in me to care. The events at the school replayed in my mind in a loop.

I chuckled at Janis' jokes as Damien draped an arm over my shoulder bent over in hysterics. Janis' smile didn't last long as she looked at something over my shoulder, or rather someone.

As I sobered up and merely gave off a pleased smile, a surprisingly strong hand yanked me from both of my friends and dragged me down the hall. Janis and Damien watching after me with equally shocked and confused looks.

Finding my ground, I halted the pursuit of the dragger. First seeing blonde hair before looking into those deep brown eyes that threw fire into my own.

"Can I help you, Ms. George?" She crossed her arms and scoffed.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" She seethed, teeth clenched, face reddening slightly.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." I gave her a sarcastic smile.

"Stop messing around Cain, first glaring at Aaron like a maniac then having Gretchen touch your hair with her sausage fingers? Totally seems like you're doing nothing." I sighed running a hand behind my neck.

"I was just having fun like you were." Her face reddened even more, before I knew it my head was whipped to the side and stinging pain was left after.

Looking back to her slowly, her eyes were wide as was her mouth, one hand raised displaying her action. Behind the shock, I could see the regret but I was going to milk this for all its worth.

"Cain, I'm-" Before she could finish, the bell rang. I looked at her blankly, stepping back a few steps.

"I have to get to class." I turned and walked away unable to see the tears welling up in her eyes.

Now I'm here, on the ground of the park at 1 am. My head was fuzzy from the nightmares I woke up to earlier. This one was different yet it was the worst one I've ever had.
