Volume 1 Chapter 4: Second Chance

Previously: They landed gracefully a good distance away from the battlefield. Izu fell to her knees breathing and bleeding heavily. Katsuki said she protected him from being killed. She looked up and saw Shoto and started crying blood. "Shoto..." He looked at her concerned about how she knew his name. She ripped off her goggles and revealed her cyan eyes. His heart skipped a beat. "Sister!" His eyes widened in shock. "Sho, I'm sorry for running away." She collapsed to the ground bleeding out. He panicked and looked at his friends desperately. With the help of Tenya Ida, she was rushed to the hospital as soon as possible. Aizawa was notified and he ran as fast as he could towards the room to see Shoto sitting next to her bloodied body. "She's really alive..."

A few weeks later: Principal Nezu and everyone has been notified of her awakening. She woke up to see quirk neutralizing cuffs on her wrists. She looked terrified and then the door opened to reveal, Shoto Todoroki, Shota Aizawa, Principal Nezu, and Katsuki Bakugo.

Katsuki Bakugo: "That's the girl that helped me escape."

Shoto: "Big sister!"

Principal Nezu: "Izumi Todoroki it's been a while since we last spoke, huh?"

Shota Aizawa: "Izumi..."

Izumi: She sat up slowly and tried to smile but failed. Tears streamed down her face,"I've missed you all...I guess I'm going to jail huh? I don't even remember much about what happened. I must have hit my head pretty hard." They all looked at each other and back at her.

Principal Nezu: "Kids step outside, the adults need to speak."

Katsuki & Shoto,"Yes, sir."

Aizawa: "Tell us what you remember."

Nezu: "Before that, how did you end up with the league?"

Aizawa: "I thought you died..."

Izumi: "I did die." She clenched her fists extremely tight causing them to bleed. "I was revived by someone's quirk a few seconds after i died. At least that's what my captor said." She bit her lip. "Stain tortured me for 3 years until I killed without any hesitation. Please unlock the cuffs and I'll show you what he did to me." Aizawa looked at Nezu and he nodded his head. Aizawa unlocked the cuffs and she got out of the bed on the opposite side of where they were standing. She took off her jacket, shirt, and peeled down her bodysuit down to her waist. Revealing deep cuts from several types of blades. Cigarette burns, whip marks, and patches of dark purple skin. She covered herself up again and sat there in silence,"I know, I killed others to survive but I had no choice. I couldn't handle the pain and mental torture anymore. I cut others so i wouldn't be cut myself by Stain." She started to cry,"I'm a monster just like my father, i deserve to die."

Aizawa was in shock over her scarred-up body, he looked at Nezu and he was just as much surprised.

Nezu: "Aizawa told me that just before you disappeared he was going to get you in a good foster home, due to your father's abuse. What if you were taken in by him, not just because of your father but I want to see if you are still a hero at heart. You were brainwashed at a young age. They kidnapped you. You aren't the one at fault."

She turned around and made eye contact with Aizawa. Her arms started to shake uncomfortably. "Me? Become a hero? But I killed people... I deserve to die! Kill me! Just like the heroes do to villains. Please end my suffering!" She collapsed to the ground sobbing,"I can't get their faces and screams out of my mind. Please just kill me!" She started to burn her skin and clothes. Aizawa wrapped his scarf around her body restraining her so she won't kill herself. And used his quirk. She looked at him desperately,"Please help me, Mr. Aiz..." He bit his tongue trying so hard not to say anything he'd regret.
