Volume 3 Chapter 4: Winter Break & Family Issues

Previously: She went to talk to Present Mic about Jäger Wolf's predicament. And talk to Mr. Aizawa about him joining her and her family vacation in a few weeks during winter break. Family personal hotsprings building on top of mountain. Endeavor is busy so it's going to be just the kids. Hawks is working with Endeavor, regarding the new mutant Nomu. Present Mic & Eri was invited as well.

They arrived at the hot springs vacation home. Eri lit up with excitement since she's never done this before. Hizashi and Aizawa sighed in relief. Izumi showed them around and then gathered the girls to relax in the woman's side while the men chatted on their side.

Later that night Izumi cooked for everyone. It was pretty surprising for most because she doesn't seems like she was the cooking type. It was Soo delicious that Eri and her siblings asked for seconds. But of course everything good has to end.

Endeavor comes into the room with Hawks floating in the air next to him. Izumi addresses Hawks but ignores her father. He tries to say sorry but she holds up her right hand,"Save it, scum of the earth." She smiled happily at Hawks,"Let's go, I'll show you around." He looked at everyone and Endeavor and sighed. "Sure, i can't wait." He relaxed in her care.

Aizawa clashes with Endeavor and Eri starts to get scared of his death glare. Izumi calls out his name and he turns around only to be kicked in the crotch. He groaned deeply and glared at her with anger. She slapped him in the face with a cold touch and expression. His eyes widened at her cold and dead look in her eyes. "Leave my guests alone. Mr. Aizawa deserves a break, he's been through a lot these few couple of years. If you want to start something, fight me." He stood up and went to say something but then Eri started to cry,"Zawa, I'm scared." Izumi heard this and clenched her teeth extremely tightly. She grabbed his wrist and dragged him outside and threw him to the ground. He looked at her angry but soon felt overwhelming fear consume him. She screamed out as she dashed towards him, he held out his hand and sent his most popular flame directly at her.

Hawks everyone ran outside to see Izumi and Endeavor breathing heavily, Izumi was still standing but Enji was in his knees bleeding heavily,"Why did you do this? Are you still angry?" She stood there in silence. "I'll make sure to become a strong figure you can look up to, maybe you can forgive me then." She scoffed disgusted,"Is that all you can do?" His eyes widened at her hatred filled eyes. "No matter what you do or say, i can't believe anything. It's for us? And me? I refuse! You broke me. I ran away from home and got murdered! I died alone in a dark alleyway." Natsuo, Shoto, and Fuyumi went into shock over her words. She became engulfed in purple flames,"Do you know what it means to be a number one hero? To become strong? To help others? No? It's to protect the children of this world. The future generations are relying on us to defeat evil and create a world where they can live happy, safe lives!" She clenched her fists extremely tight. "But all you've done is hurt your own children! All for fucking power!? Fuck off!" She turned her back against him. "You are lucky I didn't stay a villain. Because if I did, i would have killed you by now. So no child could fear for their lives around you. I hate myself. I hate what I have become. All because i desired to be stronger, i killed countless people. Innocent and guilty, my hands are covered in their blood." She looked up and saw everyone. She sighed softly,"I thought about it and there's no amount of people i can save for me to start loving myself again. I'm disgusting. I'm a killer trying to become a pro hero. But if I don't become one, what will I do? You made me into this thing. Someday you will pay for your sins but hear me when i say, I'll never be one of the sheep and forgive you." She looked at Aizawa, Hawks, and the rest coldly and walk away avoiding their eye contact. Shoto went to run after her but once he grabbed her shoulder she turned around and said,"Leave me alone." Her eyes were glowing brightly and he froze in place due to fear. She blinked and walked away in silence.

She went behind the house and then propelled herself up on the rooftop to cry alone.

Back to the others: Shoto, Fuyumi, Natsuo looked at each other,"She died?" They all looked at Hawks and Mr. Aizawa. The two heroes and nodded their heads silently not knowing what else to say. Endeavor stayed on the ground and realized that what he said hurt more than staying silent. He killed two of his children because of his actions of being power hungry. Mic took Eri in for a early night of sleep. Hawks went after Izumi to calm her heart.

Hawks got closer to the back of the building and heard soft cries. Tears of ice rolled off the roof and hit the ground below. He looked up to see her clinging to her knees as she sobbed. He frowned slightly and flew up into the air. She heard wings flapping slightly to her left, she raised her head to see Hawks landed gracefully next to her. "It seems you didn't tell your family about you dying." She scoffed at his words and set on fire with anger. He sighed softly and sat down a few inches away from her. "I'm not close with my family so I wouldn't understand. But I feel like if you died and I didn't know, that would kill me." She heard his voice change from confident to sad and sympathetic. She looked over at him, his eyes were different than usual. He was opening up to her, to make her feel better. She scooted closer and extinguished her flames. "I'm sorry to hear that." His right wing hovered over her shoulder. She looked at him and smiled genuinely at him. "You are the best you know that." He smirked slightly at her and then tensed up at the feeling of her head resting on his his shoulder. He pulled her closer and said seriously,"I think it's about time i told you a little bit about me." She looked up at him genuinely curious. "Really?" He nodded his head. "I've been dreading this, since I was scared of you leaving me." She sat up, grabbed his open hand and interlocked her fingers. "We are together forever or until one of us dies." He looked at her shocked and a little relieved. "Damn, so blunt with words. But I like that about you. I agree with your statement." He squeezed her hand and smiled genuinely at Izumi. He looked at the ground and his wings wrapped around her and blocked off the moonlight. Their eyes were the only that lit up the darkness. "Hawks?" He said nothing but his breathing became jagged. "Are you alright?" He pulled her into a warm embrace as he whispered softly into her ear. "My father is villain, I'm working for the hero public safety commission, and my real name is Keigo Takami." Her eyes widened slightly at his short but heavy information but she couldn't help to laugh. His wings retracted and he looked at her scared and confused. "I'm sorry for laughing, it's just i didn't expect your name to be so cute. Your father is evil huh? Well I guess we have that in common. And let's be honest here, you are dating a ex-villian. Hey guess what." He looked at her surprised at her honest words but went into shock over her next action. She pulled him into a deep kiss. His entire body relaxed and she smirked happily as she pulled away. "I love you, Keigo." He felt the other half of his heart unlock and set on fire. His hawk like eyes shook violently in shock over how she said his name. All his fears disappeared from his mind and they became official in his mind and heart. She heard everything but still said she loved him. He grabbed her face and pulled her into a passionate kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck. He flew up into the moonlit sky and they both looked deep into each other's eyes as their tongues fought for dominance. She won and they both pulled away laughing. "Izumi Todoroki, I love you too." She pressed her forehead against his, as they floated above the clouds. "We should tell them before the next year comes." He closed his eyes and kissed her forehead. "Alright, but together." She kissed him back and they just admired the beautiful stars and full moon.
