Volume 2 Chapter 5: Forgive Me Touya

Previously: Tokoyami walked towards the dorms as Izumi stood there in front of Hawks. "Thanks for saving me today." She smiled happily at him,"No thank you for being there for me." He chuckled softly. "Hey, Hawks..." He tilted his head to the side. "Yeah?" She held out her phone nervously. He looked down and blushed,"Sure, I mean." He cleared his throat. "It's easier if we have each other's numbers for better communication. For Internships." She nodded her head and blushed bright red in the face. "Yeah, that's what I was thinking about. Totally." She laughed nervously as she smiled with her eyes closed. He put her phone back in the palm of her hand. She opened her eyes to see Hawks smirking slightly,"I'll see you tomorrow, Izumi." Her heart skipped a beat as soon as he said her first name. "Yeah! See you later, Hawks!" He turned around and took off flying into the distance. She stood there blushing red in her cheeks. She looked down at his contact information and added him to favorites. She shoved her phone into her pocket and walked towards the dorms in high spirits.

A few days later: Tokoyami discovered a way to fly like a true bird. He rests his body on top of Dark Shadow and Dark Shadow uses his own levitation powers to carry Fumikage. He calls it,"Black Fallen Angel."

The strength of the trust between Hawks, Izumi, and Tokoyami grew immensely through the act of fighting villains together.

Izumi was talking to Tokoyami about his increase in strength when out of nowhere a swarm of blue flames came towards them from the dark alleyway behind them. Izumi pushed her friend out of the way. He got knocked out by her raw strength. She froze the flames a few inches away from hitting her and her friend. "Tch, what pain." She took a step back in hesitation. Hawks returned from getting them drinks. "What's..." She sent fire towards the villain. "Get Tokoyami out of here! I've got this!" "Alright, I'll be back!" "Alright... hurry." She got punched in the gut really hard. She slid backward and cough out spit and a bit of blood. "This time I'll kill you, even if I have to beat you to death." Her eyes widened as the Villain walked out into the light. "Dabi...?" He scoffed irritated at her saying his villain name. "Hey, there sis. Prepare to die." She froze up and heard the screams of her victims echo through her mind. "Why did you turn yourself into this...!?" He grinned sadistically as he cried blood,"Because I had no other choice but to become a monster. You can't say anything about me, you are a monster too." He created a huge tall flame in the palm of his right hand. She looked down at the ground clenching her fists extremely tight causing them to bleed. "If only I was born first, i could have saved you." His eyes widened in shock but he almost instantly tensed up again. "Nothing you can say can fix me." She looked up with tears of ice falling from her eyes. "I'm sorry for not being able to save you from your suffering." He sent his hottest flames at her with hate in his eyes. She held out her right hand and said,"I'm sorry that I let you down." Cold air swirled around his flames and snuffed them out and froze them within a few seconds. He screamed out in pain mentally and physically as he sent his max output of flames. She screamed out as she threw up both of her hands. "Please forgive me Touya...!" A tsunami of solid ice headed towards Dabi at immense speeds. Everything got covered in solid ice instantly, the ground sparkled like millions of tiny diamonds. A mile of radius in front of her froze, she exhaled painfully cold air as she fell backward. She hit the ground breathing heavily, her body felt heavy due to the frost and solid ice slowly consuming her entire body. She tried to use her fire quirk but she used too much of her energy. Her emotions went haywire and she lost control of her quirk.

Hawks flew down to see the aftermath of her quirk. She was on the ground with her eyes closed. He panicked and landed next to her and said her first name. "Hawks...." He reached out to pick her up. But the cold smoke coming off of her body burned his hand. She opened her eyes and smiled weakly. She burned the ice and frost away from her left hand as she reached out to grab his jacket. He grabbed her hand,"What happened?" She couldn't move, nor speak very well. "Dabi." She said his name and then fell asleep. Hawks wrapped his jacket around her and picked her up. "Don't worry, I'll get you warmed up." He flew to his highrise apartment balcony window. He set her down in his bathtub with hot water surrounding her. She had her bodysuit on still, so no awkward conversation would happen after she woke up.

A few hours later: Izumi woke up gasping for breath and screaming out in sadness. Hawks ran into the bathroom looking worried. She was crying tears of ice. "It's alright now, I'm here for you." He knelt down by the bath and held her hand. She relaxed almost instantly and squeezed his hand. "I'm glad." She closed her eyes and smiled genuinely.

A few minutes later: She stepped out of the bath but fell forward. Hawks caught her and she looked up,"I'm sorry." "Don't worry, you are still exhausted. You pushed yourself past it's limits. The aftermath of your ice quirk was insane." She dried herself off by using her quirk. She was helped into his room and onto the bed. "Where am I?" "My place, you were covered in ice, and there was no way you could make it to the school dorms." She looked around and saw that it was empty and plain. "It's normal." He looked down,"It's only temporary, I'll move again after today." She sat up slowly and he sat down on the edge of the bed a few meters away. "Hawks..." "Yeah, Izumi?" She looked down at her hands. "Can someone like me, really become a hero?" He sighed softly and got closer to her and grabbed her hand. She looked into his hawk eyes. "If I can then you can." She smiled slightly and then rested her head on his shoulder. He tensed up but then slowly relaxed soon after. "I don't know what that means but I'm glad I met you." She drifted off to sleep while still holding his hand. She interlocked her fingers with him. His eyes widened, his heart rate spiked, and he blushed bright red in the face.

Somewhere else~ Blood streamed down his body onto the ground as he limped down the dark alleyway. He smeared his blood on the wall with his left hand. He held his stomach with his right. "Why did this happen? How did we fall so far down? I'm sorry that I let you down, Izu-umi." His body fell forward and hit the ground in front of someone in a plague doctor mask.
