Chapter Twelve

"Tell me something about yourself that you've never told anyone." Ben asked as we crossed a bridge, I glanced at him and thought for a few seconds.

"My favorite place is Mount Olympus' library." I answered, smiling to myself as I remember reading books and exploring the gigantic library.

"Really? My mom loves reading too, as you probably know, at dinner my dad has to literally drag her out of our own library and make her pay attention to us." Ben laughed as I turned and smiled up at him.

"Tell me something about yourself my little beast." I asked turning back around and kept on walking.

"My middle name is Florian." He said looking down with red cheeks.

"Really, how princely." I teased. He laughed along with me and pulled me back against his chest.

"This prince can make you scream out his name." He whispered in my ear causing me to laugh. I leaned up to kiss his cheek and nodded.

"That he can." I smirked causing him to grin down at me.

"Now cover your eyes, we're almost there." He smiles, I narrow my eyes at him but listen to him, I close my eyes and he takes one of my hands and the other he rests on my waist as he guides me through the forest.

We walk for about a minute until he comes to a stop, I hear him let out a shaky breath and then he speaks up.

"Alright, open."

I open my eyes and come face to face with a beautiful little waterfall/lake, I see he also set up a little picnic in the center of a stone building, it reminded me of the Ancient Greece towers I used to play in when I was younger.

I take everything in and I realize my jaw was dropped a little, I look up and see Ben staring at me with a certain look on his face.

"Do you like it?" He asks, I see how nervous he is, like it's his first date with a girl.

"I.... I love it... it's so gorgeous Ben, thank you." I whisper loud enough for him to hear me.

"No need to thank me beautiful, you deserve the best." He grins and pulls me softly behind him.

I sit down on the little blanket and look at the waterfall and at the clear water, I've never seen anything like this. It brings me peace.

"Are you hungry?" Ben asks sitting in front of me, but I could tell he wanted to come sit next to me.

"Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't even notice all of this." I laughed embarrassed, what is happening to me? Since when do I laugh like this?

"It's okay love." He replies before getting a cup and pouring something into it.

"Do you want lemonade?"

"Yes please." I smiled. Since when am I so nice?

I take the glass cup from him and drink some, I look down at everything and see there are cherries. I reach for one and start nibbling on it, enjoying the flavor in my mouth.

"Is this your first time?" I hear Ben speak up, the whole time I didn't even think he was watching me, I feel my cheeks go red as I look up.

"Eating a cherry? Or going on a date? Because you're actually the first guy who's ever done something like this for me and I never get to eat fresh fruit since I'm the Queen of the Underworld and all...." I start ranting, I see him laugh as he reaches for my hand.

"I meant is this your first time eating a cherry, but since you've already answered that, and the other question I had on my mind, but let me help you..." he leans over and kisses the top of my lip, before gently sucking on it. He smirks as he goes back to sit leaving me slightly shocked, I've got to admit, my little prince is growing some balls.
