Walking home. My feelings still crushed by the thought of him being in the state he is now. So broken, so hurt, so toyed. He doesn't deserve any of this. These people had no mercy for him. They didn't even have a reason to hurt him like this. And yet, they feel like they're the kings of the world by breaking those who seem fragile.

I arrived home and had the perfect plan thought out.

Would be a shame if the police got involved right? Well what a coincidence my dad seems to be a part of them!

I walked over to his office room and went in to check if he was already home.

"Dad? Are you home?", I knocked at the door.

-"Yes come in!", he answered. "Where have you been? You seem to be later than normal."

"Uh I was just hanging out with a friend I guess." "Ah actually there's a favor I'd like to ask for", I requested.

-"Well what is it?"

"It's actually kind off serious, it's not about me. So there's this...'friend' I have at school and they're being bullied by this other group of boys at my school. They go really far as in physically and verbally assaulting him and they always take it to the extreme. I just feel really guilty for him because I always try to stand up for him but they always find ways so I can't get myself involved. The person has had it really rough since this has been going on for the entirety of high school, he told me about how he really wants to end himself and it breaks my heart. I just want them to be punished for what they've been doing because everything they do just seems to go unnoticed. Niragi is not the only one who gets taunted, I mean he has it the worst but they also bother other innocent students. So please dad can't you do something about it? Like can't you and your colleagues open an investigation or something? Please?". I tried to explain as much as I could to him, letting out a voice crack once in a while, as I tried to hold myself from letting out any tears.

He let out a sigh. –"Well it seems very serious yes I understand your point. Well if we get enough witnesses we can probably do something about it, maybe get them expelled."

"Is that all?", I said, the frustration showing in my voice.

-"Well it's up to the school to decide what really follows, they can also be prohibited from graduating."

"Dad they literally nearly killed him!", I almost shouted back at him.

-"I will see what we can do Y/N, the persons family can also file a lawsuit against them if you want them to have an even bigger punishment. You know what if they do ask your mom if she's willing to take the case it's your friend anyways."

A Detective dad, lawyer mom and a reckless daughter. What a perfect family.

-"So your friend. Is a he?".

"yeah".

-"Your boyfriend?", he asked hintingly scratching his nose.

"Dad!"

-"Yes I shouldn't make jokes I'll see what I can do".

I was about to turn around as my dad suddenly called me back.

-"Y/N! there's something I need to talk to you about actually", his voice suddenly turning serious.

"What is it?".

"Your mom and I, we've been discussing this and, we want you to study abroad, after you graduate".

I felt my heart sink to the ground as his sudden words surprised me.

"W-..What do you mean? Why? I'm 18 can't make my own decisions?!", I responded, my voice getting louder every sentence.

-"Well who's financing your studies? Huh? That's right, we are. Unless you're going to find a way to pay for your tuition on your own in the next three months. We want what's best for you okay? So that's what's happening."

"But..". The tears had already left my eyes as my voice broke down.

-"We're leaving after your graduation so you'll have some time to settle in."

I stormed out of his office not being able to take any words from him again and ran up to my room, slamming the door behind me and crashing on the floor, breaking down even harder. The thing I feared for the most is going to happen.

I'm going to have to leave him behind

I brought my knees closer to me, hugging them, as an uncontrollably stream of tears left my eyes.

What am I going to do? How am I going to tell him?

I spent the rest of the night in complete despair, sobbing in my room.

------------------------------------------------------------------

One month later

The last term started and Niragi had been staying at home the for past month. Winter break also just ended. I made sure to visit him occasionally, hold him in my arms, comfort him, and spend as much time as I wanted with him. The police department opened an investigation along with the school into the harassing of the students by the malicious group of Daichi and his friends. Chances are big that they're all getting expelled and banned from graduating. Hopefully Niragi gets the assurance he needs once they're gone. I hope all their pathetic futures are ruined for the rest of their lives.

I took my lunch out of my bag and went to the rooftop to eat alone again. I was so ashamed to join my old friends because I've been avoiding them so much the past terms, I just couldn't act honest towards them. Walking up the stairs, arriving at the top, I opened the door, to my surprise, I saw someone that looked like Niragi sitting at our usual meeting spot. He turned his head towards my direction and waved. It was him. I ran into his direction with a huge smile plastered on my face, feeling the joy in my body, and hugged his figure tightly.

"You're back at school again! I'm so glad you're back oh my god!".

-"I'm sorry it took me some time, sorry that you had to spend your lunches alone...", he said

"No don't be sorry! I told you I would wait for you as long as it takes! I'm glad you're doing better that you can go to school again", I said sitting down next to him closely. "I have something for you".

I gave him the box of mochi that he always talked about, that he liked so much.

"For me? Thank you, seems like my rambling hasn't left your mind", he joked.

I was happy to see him doing better again, I couldn't stop smiling. I placed a soft kiss on his cheek and opened my lunch bag to start eating.

My precious Niragi. I can't believe I will have to leave you behind.
