Chapter 17: stuck in a dilemma

I woke solely in the big bed, noticing he wasn't next to me anymore.

He said he missed me but leaves as fast as he can, what's up with him?

I felt annoyed and got up and clothed myself, planning on going to take a look at what this place is all about. I left the room, heading downstairs. For some reason It felt as if everyone was looking at me, as if I were aggressively stared at. I mean I just arrived here today so what could I've already done wrong? I don't know why I'm overthinking this much, I didn't even care about anyone else?

Oh, what a coincidence, isn't that the guy from the tag game? What was his name again.. Chishiya?

I noticed him conversing with someone, hiding in a corner, with a girl, somewhat taller than him, wearing dreads.

What are they being so discrete about?

I got a bit closer, enough to overhear their conversation, observing them, hiding myself behind a small wall.

-"We need to find someone that's easy to persuade but still somewhat smart, someone that doesn't think through completely"

--"Who are you thinking about then?"

-"I wouldn't know, everyone here's a bunch of idiots"

--"Well if you think everyone's such an idiot then wouldn't they all fall for it?"

-"Yes but they still need to have some sense to not fail the plan. We need those cards Kuina, we have no other choice to use someone. Or do you want to volunteer?"

--"You're so sly you know that?"

So, they're planning on stealing the cards? That's a tough plan, but still, very smart. Interesting

I noticed they were done talking and quickly walked away before they'd see me.

It was infested with people outside. Everyone was partying, having fun, playing in the pool, dancing near the dj, an absolute festival.

How the hell am I even going to survive this social construct?

I walked over to the sun loungers claiming one, before laying down.

Should I just try to make some 'friends'? Or maybe just hang around the place a bit? Well I don't have a specific desire for human interaction but I guess I'll die of boredom if I don't find anyone to mess with.. I still have Niragi..? But it seems like he is trying to get away from me for some reason.. He's messing around with someone else isn't he..? We've been apart for six years, dumb of me to think he'd still legitimately love me. Stop overthinking everything Y/N! listen to yourself! You sound so worried it's funny..

-"You're new here aren't you?"

I looked up to see the girl that was just talking to Chishiya, taking a seat on the sun lounger placed next to mine.

"Ah yes I arrived today actually", I sat up to face her and responded.

-"I'm Kuina, nice to meet you!", she extended her hand for me to shake it. I accepted and shook her hand.

"Y/N".

-"So you say you've been here just today, but I think I've already heard some things about you I must say."

So I wasn't overthinking when I thought everyone was staring at me?

"What do you mean?"

-"Well apparently there's something serious going on between you and Niragi. People said they saw you guys hugging and crying in the hallway, and he was in your room the whole afternoon"
