'Cause you are my medicine,

꧁----꧂

After finishing her dinner, [Name] decided to do her last chore. The kids always came in and out of the library and left a mess. It was her job to organize the books into their designated spots and make sure the library was all clean.

As she was scouting the books, making sure everything was in its proper place, she heard the door open. She assumed it was Isabella, so she decided to ignore her.

[Name]'s eyes caught a book that she was looking for, The Catcher in the Rye. She smiled as she remembered Ray recommending it to her. She looked around the library and assumed Isabella left due to the silence. She took the book with her and sat down on the ladder that connected the books that were up high. She began to read the first page.

"Finally reading that book, huh?" [Name] was startled and looked around the room frantically. She saw someone leaning against the wall reading their own book.

Ray.

[Name] folded the corner of the page and closed the book. "What are you doing here?" She began to climb down the ladder.

"I could ask you the same thing." [Name] decided not to push anything and go to sleep in her room.

"You're not gonna stay?"

"Why would it matter?" [Name] retorted.

"How far have you gotten?" Ray said, referring to the book.

"Barely the first page." [Name] answered. Ray's eye contacted shifted.

"Wanna read it with me?" He asked hesitantly. [Name] remembered how they used to do so during their free time. They would always recommend books to each other and talk about them.

"Why not." [Name] sat next to him and handed him the book. He opened the book to the first page and began to read.

Barely reading the first few pages, [Name] had barely managed to keep her eyes open. Her eyelids grew heavy. As Ray continued to read, he felt some weight on his shoulder. He turned to see [Name] fast asleep. Ray bent the corner of the page he was on and put the book down on the table in front of him. He grabbed [Name]'s arms, placed her on his back with her face rested on his shoulder and began to walk to her room. He quietly walked in and carefully pulled the blanket with one hand. He placed [Name] on it by sitting down on her bed and letting go of her. Ray made sure that she slowly fell onto her pillow. He then tucked her and left the room.

"C'mon [Name]! Wake up, wake up, wake up!" [Name] felt a little kid jump on the bed around her. She loudly groaned and placed her pillow onto her face.
