[Name] climbed back up the wooden ladder, careful not to fall with the book still being in her hand. Shortly, after she made it up, Ray began to climb it as well.

The girl sat herself down at the corner of the wooden platform, leaning against the railing with the book already opened in her hands. Ray stepped forward, setting himself down next to the girl. He read the number at the bottom of the page.

154.

[Name] was usually the type to read a lot of pages within a short amount of time. But due to the events and extra chores, she hasn't gotten the chance to take in a few pages.

The boy sat down beside her, leaning forward a bit to rub his exhausted eyes before leaning back into the wooden railing.

He asked, "Have you read the letter yet?"

[Name] furrowed her eyebrows, "What letter?"

"Norman left a letter for me. I'd assume he left one for you in your drawer."

"I'll have to check that out later," the girl groggily said. She never put much use to her drawers, so checking them wasn't necessary for her, except for of course Norman's letter.

As the girl began to read, the book was snatched from her hands, causing her to dart her eyes towards the boy.

[Name] hissed, "Hey-!"

"Don't worry," Ray cut off, "I'll hold it." The girl sighed, and leaned a bit in order to have a better view of the words typed onto the faded pages.

As Ray began to read, he couldn't lie, he would do things such as this on purpose. He had trouble and was too reserved to simply show his appreciation for the girl. Moments like these are the closest he gets and the closest he supposes he'll ever get. But its also the moments like these that he'll cherish and never forget. He wishes he could be more upfront about something like this just as he was upfront about anything else. But the tension left him stammered and speechless. These small interactions were easiest for him to impose and to handle since he was clueless as how to properly address his feelings.

In [Name]'s case, although logic was her thing, she hasn't seemed to notice the boy's intentional acts. But no one's said she's ever minded them. She also enjoyed moments such as these. Moments where he allowed for her to get close and feel his comforting warmth. She could also admit, she was trying her best to show her gratitude for Ray. But they both never know what to say. Especially regarding both of their weariness after Norman's departure. But [Name] was no dumbass.

A while after they began reading [Name] rested her head on the boy's shoulder, continuing to read the words off of the pages. The boy stiffened, but didn't make too much of a disruption for her to notice it.
