AN: Happy Easter you guys and thank you to everyone who is reading this story :)
Draco's POV
I pulled out my wand and shot a spell at my father, not to kill him but to render him unconscious. Then I apparated us both to the Ministry of Magic. I left him on the floor with a fat stack of papers, all the evidence I had withheld. Everything my father ever did, everyone he ever killed and tortured, all in written documents and photos. I knew the Minister would take it from there so I apparated back to Hogwarts, my mind filled with only one thing: find Harry. I found Hermione and Pansy wandering around the castle.
"Have either of you seen Harry?" I asked desperately.
"No, we've been looking for him. We checked the library and Hagrid's and that spot he goes to by the lake to watch the squid." Hermione said.
"Did you check the common room? Like really check? He likes to sit in the bay window and look at the lake." I said.
"No, we didn't even think to check there." Hermione said.
We burst into the common room, which was mostly deserted, and sure enough sitting in the bay window was my beautiful black haired boy. He looked up at the noise of the door being slammed open and saw me. He instantly got up to leave but I wasn't going to let him.
"Harry, wait!" I called. He stopped and looked at me.
"Draco, no I-I can't do this." He said, his eyes were starting to look glossy, filled with unshed tears.
"I know. Merlin, I should have known earlier, but I know. I know about what my father said to you. I know what he threatened. I know you didn't mean any of the things you said." I called. This time he stopped dead in his tracks, he didn't turn to face me though.
"Then you know why I can't let that happen." He said, his voice was grim and full of regret.
"He can't hurt you, not anymore." I said, I couldn't help the desperate tone in my voice.
"You think I did that to protect me? He didn't threaten me, Draco." He still didn't turn to look at me.
"I know he threatened your friends. But--" He cut me off.
"No, you don't understand. He didn't threaten me, he threatened you." His voice cracked as he said that. "He wants you to work with him, and he knows you won't do that as long as you have me keeping you here. He is willing to kill everyone you hold dear, he's willing to make you watch as he does so. All that so you will break and join him."
"He can't. I brought him to the Minister, I hand delivered my unconscious father to the door of the Ministry of Magic along with plenty of evidence to get him sent to Azkaban for life." I said, I was silently pleading for him to turn around, to look me in the eyes.
"He-he's gone?" Harry asked, almost too quiet for me to hear.
"Yes, my love, he can't hurt anyone from Azkaban. He has nobody. No followers, no friends. They are all dead or locked away. No one can hurt me or anyone." I said. I took a step towards him. He turned around and ran over to me. He came at me so fast I almost fell, but I held my ground as he pulled me into a hug. I held him tighter than I ever had before.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean any of the things I said. I missed you so much." He cried. I pulled away just a little so I could see his face.
"I missed you too." I said.
Then I kissed him and this time he kissed me back. I didn't realize until now, how much I missed the feeling of his lips on mine. I pulled him closer to me and we didn't pull away for what seemed like years. When we did pull apart I grabbed both of his hands.
