Felix's POV

I stood at the entrance of the hospital, wondering if I should enter or leave. " Felix? " I turned around and saw their assistant.

" Why don't you go in? " He asked.

I pursed my lips, " Did you cry? " He furrowed his brows and I shook my head.

He doesn't seem convinced, " Your parents will be very happy to know that you came. " I shook my head as I scoffed.

" They are not my parents. " I said.

He came over and smiled slightly, " It's okay, take your time. I know it's hard to accept them for the time being but I want you to know that they do indeed care a lot about you. "

I nodded, " I'll go in first. You don't have to force yourself if you're not ready yet. " He shot me a familiar fatherly smile before going into the hospital.

I let out a sigh as I turned my back and walked off slowly. I decide to walk home since my apartment is near the hospital.

When I got home, I plunged onto the couch while staring lifelessly at the ceiling. " So annoying. " I groaned before standing up and going straight into my room.

I laid on my bed and unknowingly, I fell asleep.

The next morning, I washed up before changing into my uniform. I put on a black sweater over me before leaving the house.

When I got to school, I walked straight to my class and sat down there. " Are you okay dude? You don't look okay today. " Seungmin asked.

I nodded with a reassuring smile, " I'm fine. Thanks for asking. " He nodded before looking away.

The door slid opened and I heard a slight hiccup coming from the side. I turned to see Seoyul hiccuping as she walked to her seat.

She quickly took her bottle out of her bag and started chugging the water down. " Are you a water tank? Slow down! " Seungmin said.

I stared at her while she drank, suddenly our eyes met and she choked on her water. She started coughing profusely, " This is why I told you to drink slower! Gosh! " Seungmin said.

I looked down at my desk and smiled to myself.

Seoyul's POV

When I finally stopped choking on the water, I rushed out of the classroom and into the washroom. I stood before the mirror as I stared at my own reflection.

" Yoon Seoyul, get a grip of yourself! " I said before flushing my face with water.

I pursed my lips thinking about what happened last night and my face started getting redder. Suddenly, the door opened, " Are you okay? " I flinched.

" Why is your face so red? I heard from Seungmin that you came to the washroom so I came here. " Haru reached her hand over to my forehead.

She furrowed her brows, " You're not sick though. "

I shot her a smile, " I'm fine, let's go back. " I cling onto her arm as I dragged her back to class.

I quickly sat down at my seat, trying to not feel awkward with Felix but the entire day of lesson, I find it hard to concentrate.

When it's finally lunch break, I stood up stretching slightly. " What's for lunch today? " Haru asked and I shrugged.

We went to the cafeteria and we went to get our food before looking for a seat. Haru sat down first so I didn't have a choice but to sit facing Felix.

I felt his stare and I started hiccuping before looking away from him.

" Why are you suddenly hiccuping? Usually, you only hiccup when you're nervous. " Haru said and I nudged her hard on her waist, causing her to wince.

I shook my head, " T-That's not true! I must be overly stressed because of the Maths lesson later. " I said as I hiccuped again.

Haru placed a bottle of water in front of me, " Whatever, let's just eat. I'm starving. " She said and they all began eating. Throughout lunch break, Felix and I kept quiet because of how awkward things were.

I tried to act normal but whenever I'm nervous, I tend to hiccup which makes things obvious. " Here. " Seungmin placed the spicy eel on my rice and I thanked him.

" Felix learned his lesson. " Haru said while chuckling.

He nodded, " Yeah. No spicy food for me. " We chuckled and I buried my face into my food.

When we got back to the classroom, it's our Maths lesson now. Our Maths teacher love to ask us questions, " Who would like to volunteer? " He asked as he looked around the class.

I hid my face from him, " Seoyul? " I slowly peeped out from behind the book.

" How do you solve this question? " I cleared my throat trying to get help from my friends.

I stood up slowly, " Must I go to the front to solve it? " He nodded and I unwillingly dragged my body to the front of the class.

This reminded me of what Seungmin taught me previously. I wasn't sure if it's the right answer but I did it according to my gut. " You almost got the answer but your last step is wrong. " He said.

I went back to my seat and sat down, " But good try Seoyul! " He smiled and I smiled slightly.

" Not gonna lie, knowing how your level of understanding in Maths, I'm pleasantly surprised by you. " I rolled my eyes when I heard what Seungmin said.

When our class ended, we were walking out of school when someone approached Felix. My eyes widened when I realised who is this familiar looking lady.

Felix clenched his jaw. " What are you doing here? "

" Felix, I heard from Mr Nam that you came to the hospital last night. I know that you care for us. " She held his hand. He scoffed as he yanked her hand away.

He eyed her, " I went not because I care, but because I am a decent human being. " Tears started welling up in her eyes as she pursed her lips.

She turned to face us, " You guys must be Felix's friends. I am his mother. " She smiled.

Felix sneered, " You're not my mother! " He raised his voice slightly which caught us by surprised.

She nodded slightly before turning around and going into her car before driving off. Felix looked over at us, " Why are you guys not walking? "

He scoffed as he walked ahead of us, as if he is not bothered by what just happened.

Even though he acted all tough, but deep inside the scars from his childhood is reopening again.
