I was going to write from K9's point of view but it hurt to much 😭
I have no idea what the park actually looks like so the stuff I added is completely made up.
Originally, I was going to wait until Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords to introduce one of Fred's aunts, but I couldn't wait that long.
Who's ready to meet one of Freddie's aunts?!
The Doctor's POV.
The next day, Sarah and Fred walked though Belle Vue Park to the TARDIS. Fred had her hands shoved into the pockets of her grey zip up hoodie, her dark pink, yellow, and black backpack with blue zippers slung over her shoulders. She was ready for a day of who knows what.
"Cup of tea?" I grinned, and pushed open the door.
Sarah's eyes glazed over, remembering the adventures we had been on. "You've redecorated."
"Do you like it?"
"Oh, I... I do. Yeah." She smiled. "I preferred it as it was, but er... Yeah. It'll do."
Fred's eyebrows knit together as she examined a wall of round things. Everyone always says "It's bigger on the inside!" on their first trip in the TARDIS, however there have been, and I assume there will be, a few variations in the past and future.
If I were to fake entering a TARDIS for the very first time I would probably say something along the lines of "My entire understanding of physical space has been transformed! Three-dimensional Euclidean geometry has been torn up, thrown in the air and snogged to death! My grasp of the universal constants of physical reality has been changed forever."
Actually, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I thought that the very first time I entered a TARDIS.
What Freddie T Smith said, however, was none of the above.
"I thought it'd be cleaner." Fred poked the center of one of the round things, picking up a thin layer of dust.
"CLEANER?" I turned to Fred.
To say I was confused would be an understatement.
"I don't know." She shrugged. "I always pictured it being white. And a bit... smaller."
"SMALLER?" To be fair, the updated desktop settings did make the console room bigger than it had been in the old days. "How much smaller?"
"Maybe a foot farther in."
"A FOOT?"
"Yeah. Maybe two."
"TWO?!"
"Or four."
"FOUR?!?!" If my jaw could unhinge any further, it would fall through the mettle grated floor.
"Somewhere about... here." She gestured, giving a rough estimate of where she thought the wall would be.
"I love it." Rose called from the other side of the room where she stood beside Mickey, giving her classic grin.
"Hey, you, what's forty seven times three hundred and sixty nine?" Sarah turned towards Rose, still grinning at Freddie's reaction to the TARDIS.
"No idea. It's gone now. The oil's faded."
"But you're still clever. More than a match for him."
"You and me both." Rose glanced over the console unit. "Doctor?"
"Er, we're about to head off, but you could come with us."
