Chapter 31: Harry's surprise

Jace's POV

I haven't gotten very far with Stelavina. If I fail the Werewolf's Guard will surely have my head. I dont really want this though.  I dont love Stelavina.  I never even met her before.  Being my position in the pack i dont really get to see the Luna. I still need to try though.

I go looking for her.  Its Valentine's Day I need to give her the gift i got. Its just a little box of chocolates and a pink rose. Sorry I don't know what she likes.

I finally find her in the laboratory room.  She has an apron on and a pair of goggles. Surrounded by test tubes and chemicals she doesnt notice me coming in. I knock on the door.

"Oh! Hi Jace. Wanna help me with my Science project?" She bursts out happy. 

"Ok. I got you something. " I hand her the gifts.

"Oh thank you" she says without enthusiasm. 

I dont think she loves me either. I feel another presence.  I turn and see Harry. I growl. 

"What are you doing here. Are you going to push her into another river?" he spits at me like acid.

I would say something if it wasnt true that I did that. But it was an accident. What is he doing here? I try to ask him only for him to zip towards Stelavina.

       He ask her hows her ankle doing. She smiles all pretty and answers fine. I hate to admit this but I think Luna likes Harry more than me.

"Sorry Jace I invited him to help sincd he needs to get his grade up in Science."

I growled but i didnt disagree. The whole day I had to watch Stelavina mess around with Harry. If this was a race I would still be at starting line while Harry was almost to the finish.

       We are done with the project. Together we made a working rollercoaster without using batteries. Well more like me and Stelavina. Harry didnt help at all.

"Hey Stel come and look at what i made" Harry comes back with a smile on his face. 

He calls her Stel now?! Uh!!! I hate this guy. She goes put back to the science yard and watched Harry  blow up something into the air. With a blast the rocket thing shaped into a heart. Red filled the sky.

      I could see Stelavina's eye twinkle. He says it was for his science grade.  I dont believe him.  Stelavina hugs Harry with a thank you.

"It was nothin" he smiles back at her.

For a second they stay there frozen. I feel like a third wheel. They may not notice it , but I do. There locked eyes says something more. They have deep feelings for each other. Is it Love? Maybe, but its not clear yet because they a separate races.  Rival races.

         Thats what must be holding back there love. I don't want to ruin that but the Werewolf's Guard permits me too. Im so confused.  Arent we supposed to give our Luna love and everlastimg happiness ? What is Werewolf's Guard doing? All I know is I don't want to be apart of it. Im going to help my Luna find love. Because I want to have someone look at me that way.
