ILY ALLL
Luka's POV
She was doing surprisingly well.
Rose really liked her, along with Ivan and Juleka. Marinette had a lot in common with us. Through the guitar strums and the bass playing, she would cheer us on and even help set up our equipment. She even knew the name of the guitar I had. It was one like Jagged Stone. It cost me five summers to save up for it. I didn't even know she loved Jagged Stone-
When I asked her she scoffed and responded by saying, "What did you expect me to like? The cold lifeless music of XY?"
I raised my eyebrow and smiled. That was exactly what I thought about XY's music.
We were right now into our second hour of band practice. I couldn't believe she was still here. I thought we would study, she would leave, and we wouldn't meet up until next Tuesday.
Seeing that we were taking a break, I hopped off the stage to join Marinette near the snacks that my mom put out.
"Still think bands are dorky?" I smirked at her.
She crossed her arms before turning to look at me, "I never said it was dorky, I just gave you a look."
I laughed, "Whatever Ma-Ma-Marinette."
"And... it wasn't THAT dorky. It-it was kinda cool..." she trailed off embarrassed- looking up at the sky.
The Friday night had turned into a beautiful creamy sunset. I sighed before leaning against the railing of the boat, Marinette cautiously followed. We stayed there together for what felt like hours. As the two of us watched the clouds mix together into purples, and reds, and oranges-
The boat began to rock and rumble with us as we watched the sky's colors collide.
"Whoa!" Marinette stumbled forward.
The boat had started rocking faster and faster wave upon wave, dipping into the water in a rhythmic pattern ever so slightly.
I felt Marinette rock beside me from the vibrations of the houseboat. Helping her, I wrapped my arm around her until she was securely resting around my chest.
Her breath was still rising from the sudden movement. Keeping my hand around her petite frame I looked down at her with a frown. I had gotten used to the waves along with everyone else. (Rose and Ivan were used to it too since they came over so much that they practically lived there.)
"Marinette..." I said looking into her crystal blue eyes. She turned around to meet me, my arms still guarding her, creating a boundary between us and everyone else.
"What are we gonna do about us?" I said. Staring down at our wrists.
"What are you-"
Her eyes lit up in realization. Looking down at her wrist she sighed.
"We already have that pact," she responded confidently.
I gave her a look and Marinette opened her mouth to change the subject but I cut her off.
"Yes, but what about the ki-"
She broke out from under my arms.
"It-it wasn't a kiss!" She said defensively looking at me offended. "It-it was just in the moment okay?! And-and it just wasn't like that!"
I'm pretty sure everyone on the boat was starting to stop and stare at us. We didn't care though.
"Then what was it like!" I countered back.
What am I doing? Why am I getting angry that she didn't want to be my soulmate? Why was I getting this feeling of pain that she didn't want to be with me!?
"You just aren't-"
"Aren't what!" I yelled back at her.
"YOU AREN'T THE BOY I LOVE."
Everyone froze.
The words punctured me with a knife as I stumbled back on the houseboat. The waves had started to pick up even faster and faster now.
Rose, Juleka, and Ivan had gone downstairs to "help my Mom". That was obviously code for not wanting to be in this awkward situation. I wouldn't either if I were them.
"WELL SOME BOY YOU LOVE! DITCHING YOU AT THE DANCE AND DOING NOTHING TO FIX IT EXCEPT MAKING OUT WITH YIY BEFORE SCIENCE CLASS!"
Marinette's eyes grew wide as she stumbled back a little bit. The waves were starting to hit the bottom of the boat rising us up and down.
"NOT TO MENTION- DO YOU REALLY THINK HE'S GONNA LOVE YOU ANYMORE ONCE HE'S NOT YOUR SOULMATE AND YOU LIED!" I yelled back in pain.
Marinette shook her head in anger, "You don't know Adrien. He would never-"
"I know enough."
Marinette looked at me with cold eyes before staring down at her feet and sniffling.
Both of us were stunned for a second until her phone buzzed: 'Incoming Call From: Adrien💚'
"You should leave and take that." I said coldly.
She nodded, "Yeah... I should..." before stomping off the houseboat, leaving me alone.
