Marinette's POV

I didn't know why he bothered me so much, but there was no way in hell he was my soulmate.

He was so-so infuriating!  AND ANNOYING- His stupid ass sarcastic voice. I fumed with tears in my eyes.  He didn't give one shit about soulmates so why was he starting to care now!?

Why-why was I starting to care now...

I shook my head before looking down at my vibrating phone and smiling.  'Adrien💚'

I wiped the tears off my face and tried to steady my voice as I hit 'accept'.

"Hey Bugaboo! It's a Friday night and I would be a terrible boyfriend if I didn't ask you if you wanted to hang out."  His voice rang out of the phone.

I smiled to myself, "Sure Kitty, when and where?"

-Le Time Skip-

"Hey M'Lady!"

I turned around to see a bed head of blonde curls running towards me.

"Hey!" I smiled as I jumped into his arms.

It was true I was having a hard time, but Adrien's dad barely let him out unless it was for school or unless I was coming over to their house (very rare.).

I nuzzled myself in the crook of his neck, sighing into the delicious aroma of his cologne.

"Rough day?" He chuckled.

I nodded, feeling tears prick in my eyes.

He pulled me in tighter as we stood there for a moment.

People around us on the sidewalk had begun to stare.  It was the usual stuff though:

"Is that Adrien Agreste?"

"Who is he with?"

"Ugh she's so basic.  How could he love her?"

"I heard she got an internship from his father just because they were dating."

I buried myself deeper into Adrien's neck, closing my eyes.

There were a lot of rough spots in me and Adrien's relationship but this was a big one of them.  Adrien turned to the fans and smiled.  If there was one thing his father taught him it was image.  And his son yelling at civilians for criticizing his girlfriend wasn't that good.

It bothered me that he didn't fight for me like he used to though-

When we were kids-even before we started dating he was always there by my side.  If anyone even so much as taunted me he would step forward and give them a piece of his mind.

But- we get older-

New priorities-

Things change-

I mean I don't love him any less- I just-
