"Shit guys, I made a huge mistake." Calum bursts into Luke's living room, all three of his bandmates turning to look at him with varying degrees of shock written across their faces.
"You fucked her." Mike replies pointedly.
"Ya." Calum sighs, seeming to deflate into the chair rather than just sit.
"Why?" Ashton asks calmly, spinning his focus completely from the computer to Calum.
"If I say because she was there are you going to throw something at me?" Calum sighs, groaning into his palms as he does.
"What happened to being careful?" Luke almost chuckles.
"She was there, looking amazing as always, and she said all the right things. Too many of the right things. And then I kissed her, and it escalated. I didn't even realize I was overly emotional until after I'd dropped her off. It was like suddenly everything hit me again, I was out from under her spell or something. And I panicked because I told her I'd forgiven her for everything and then had sex with her and told her I'd call her tomorrow."
"Not one to usually suggest standing a girl up, but I definitely would not call her tomorrow." Ashton sighs, "you got your fun in. Your fall back into what it used to be. But you have to do this right Cal, you cannot just let go of everything she put you through. She hurt you, and one conversation isn't going to fix that."
"I know." He groans again, "but now I feel like an ass for telling her it did, because I thought I meant it, but after it all settled I realized I'm still hurt, and I'm still afraid, and that's not just going to go away."
"No it's not. You need to take a step back and reassess. And fix your thoughts and plan into a secure place. So when you do see her again, you don't come out the other side with hickeys you regret." Luke offers, smirking slightly as his eyes fall to the bruise on Calums neck.
"You don't think she'd understand if you told her you needed some time to process? That everything was so surreal and exciting today and you got caught up in all that?" Michael frowns.
"I honestly don't know what she would say to that. Because she point blank asked me if I'd forgiven her and told me she didn't want to do anything I'd regret later. And I told her not to worry."
"But now you regret it?"
"Physically no. Holy hell I needed that. But emotionally, and mentally, it was way more than should have happened. I didn't make her explain enough and I took the first I'm sorry as a blanket apology. I was being stupid."
"I think Ash is right Cal, you need to take a step back now. You've experienced the rush and emotional high of acting spontaneously with her, and the gradual let down of that choice. Now you need to center yourself and figure out exactly what you need her to explain and what issues you need fully hashed out between you before you can see her again, because falling into something with her while you're suppressing your feelings about the past you share is not a good idea. It will only end with an implosion of whatever you two would create." Michael nods.
"Fuck." Calum sighs, "why'd I have to think with my dick today."
"We've all done it. It's hard to not do stupid shit when an ex is involved. But you have to keep control to ever have a chance of fixing things or getting real closure with her." Luke offers somewhat supportively.
"Give it a few days at least Cal. You're strong enough to do this right. And you've got our support." Ashton adds softly.
"Thanks." He sighs, sitting himself up somewhat finally, "so we were discussing promo now that it's all coming from LA?"

"Nothing still?" Zane asks, glancing over Zeppelynn's shoulder and seeing the text thread with Calum still ending with her two texts from the previous day.
"He left me on fucking read..." she sighs, brushing her hair back.
"You did break his heart. I don't think leaving you on read for a few days is the equivalent." Zane chuckles.
"He told me he forgave me, that he wouldn't regret it." She groans, leaning her head forward onto the kitchen table.
"You've never said something in the heat of the moment that you later realized you may not have fully meant? Even if at the time you thought you did?" Zane cocks an eyebrow at her.
"Fuck you." She flips him off without lifting her head from the tabletop, catching on to the fact that Zane was indicating the choice she made to break up with Calum in the first place.
"I'm just saying Lynn, you can't actually be mad if he decided maybe he did regret any part of what happened between you guys a few days ago."
"But why can't he just ask me to explain again then? Tell me what part is bugging him so we can figure it out."
"I know you don't want to hear this Zeppelynn. But that guy has every right to never talk to you again. If he panicked after Tuesday and decided the best option for him was to step away for good, then you have to let him make that choice."
"I can still fight for him..." she offers quietly.
"You broke him, don't push too hard or you'll end up shoving him further away. Let him deal with his emotions how he needs to. At least he hasn't blocked your number."
"Fuck. I hadn't even thought of the fact he could do that." Her eyes suddenly go wide as she lifts her head.
"The more you push the more he will pull away. Just some advice from a guy." Zane shrugs, "In all honesty, I hope he finds a way to forgive you. You two were good together. But if he doesn't, you have to be okay with that. Why don't you see if there's someone else you could pester for a while? See if one of the girls wants to hang out or something. Keep your mind off it while he processes."
"Pretty sure both Zac and Levi are sick of me stealing their girlfriends."
"You have more friends than just the five of us and I know it. Look through that phone of yours and call someone up, or at least send a text. I'll be down in the shop, I've got a lady coming in with an important piece she wants me to do for her."
"Maybe I'll look through my contacts to see if anyone piques my interest." She rolls her eyes at him, grabbing her crutches to move across the room to a more comfortable seat first though.
"Thank you Zeppelynn. Love you!" He chuckles, heading for the door to the main floor as she settles into the couch, trying to decide if anyone in her contacts is worth contacting.
