Zeppelynn continues to stare at the photo, the events of last night playing through her head over and over. It almost seems like a dream, or a nightmare...
He'd called her Wildflower, the amount of times she's hoped to hear that nickname again was innumerable. It was her favorite nickname by far, but only from his lips.
They'd stayed there, him stood her sat, staring at each other for what felt like hours, neither one sure what to say, nor daring to talk further, to initiate the conversation. And then he'd seems to come around, eyes going wide as he muttered something about being in the women's bathroom before bolting out of the space.
By the time she'd managed to wash her hands and leave he was more than gone, and if she were being completely honest with herself she hadn't had the guts to chase after him. She didn't want to hear him break her the way she knew she'd broken him.
"Lynn." "Zeppelynn." ZEPPELYNN!" She startles slightly as Zac calls out her name loudly beside her, her thumb tapping the screen.
"Shit! Shit! Shit!" She curses under her breath, seeing the heart below the photo lit up red suddenly.
"Why are you staring at Calum's Instagram post. I thought you weren't going there." Zac cocks an eyebrow as he notices what she's cursing about.
"I sort of ran into him last night." She sighs.
"The universe really wants you two to talk something out doesn't it." He laughs suddenly.
"Well the universe needs to catch up cuz Calum went running out of there real fast. He doesn't agree with the idea of talking things out."
"The universe doesn't really take suggestions." Zac shrugs, "if it's meant to be it will happen, leave your like on the photo. Maybe that was the universe trying to send him a sign."
"He gets almost half a million likes on his photos. He isn't going to see that I liked it." She rolls her eyes at Zac, but glances back at the screen of her phone, quickly hitting the home button before she can overthink and unlike the photo. Something stirring in her chest slightly at the idea that maybe he'd notice and act on her small gesture, even if it had been an accident.

Calum felt like a jackass. He blamed the shock of the moment mixed with the inebriated stage of his brain, but it didn't help much.
He'd ran out on her, someone he once cared for more than anyone else in the world. Someone he had wanted to see and help through every step of recovery. And despite the fact that he could clearly see she'd undergone a nearly complete leg amputation he'd simply bolted instead of tried to talk to her, to ask if she was okay, to see what it had been like for her for the last nine months.
Her nickname had slipped so easily from his lips when he'd met her eyes, like a reflex caused by the heart in his chest simultaneously stopping and jumping erratically with excitement.
He'd seen the stunned look in her face too, she hadn't been expecting to see him. Then again, it had been the women's restroom he had drunkenly entered, most women of not all wouldn't expect to see a man in there, let alone their ex-boyfriend.
But running out when his fight or flight mode kicked in now seemed like the cowards way out. With the universe determined to bring them together, why was he fighting so hard to stay away?
This was what he wanted, was it not? He'd written a whole song about how desperately he wanted her back, and another about the abundance of feelings and emotions she constantly fed him. She had been there, steps away and he'd run out on the chance to say anything to her.
"Dude..." Roy is chuckling almost evilly as he drops beside Calum on the couch.
"What?" Cal asks, not in the mood for something stupid.
"Look who liked it." Roy shrugs, handing over his phone, the screen open to a list of those who have liked an Instagram post. His heartbeat quickening as he recognizes her handle, clicking the back button to confirm it's the photo he's shared from the previous evening.
"Fuck." Calum swallows hard, "she liked it?"
"I don't think your story with Zeppelynn is over yet Cal. There's too much here telling you to bite the bullet and speak to her. Far too much."
"She liked my Instagram post?" He asks again, more quietly as if asking himself more so than Roy, trying to comprehend the situation.
"About the night when you ran into her again to boot." Roy nods.
"If I happen upon her again for any reason I'm going to act. It's too many times to just be coincidence. Something isn't done between us apparently. I just wish she'd make the first move, I've let her tear me to shreds already, I wish I could wait for her to fight for this back if it's supposed to turn out that way."
"Maybe she will? You never know. But the universe is pushing you two together again Cal. It has to be."
"She liked my photo." He sighs, leaning his head back as he thinks through that thought again and again.
"Are you going to do anything with that information or just repeat it over and over?" Roy chuckles lightly.
"I've got therapy tomorrow. I'm going to see what the universe has to say about things then."
"Don't leave it all up to that, the universe can only nudge, humans have to take the initiative."
"I know. But I'm not showing up at her apartment for this. Therapy will have to be where things start, or end, for good."
