Calum is distracted as he drives home, trying to wrap his head around the idea that leaving the studio tonight had been the last time he would spend with his band in person for a while. Especially the fact that it was the last time they would be together in person before their album dropped at the end of the month.
But his focus is pulled from his own thoughts as he goes to press the button to open the garage, a figure standing leaned against the gate into his yard. Slowing to a stop he studies the person for a moment, rolling down his window as he realizes who it is.
"You waiting on me?" He sighs, not sure if he was ready for this.
"Have been for a bit, I'm just glad your neighbors haven't called the cops for loitering." she responds, pushing herself up onto her leg, adjusting the crutches back under her arms properly.
"Roy's not home?" he asks, pressing the button to open the garage finally.
"He didn't answer if he is." She shrugs.
"Come on." He motions with his head, pulling into the garage as she follows on her crutches.
"I just want to talk Cal. Before it becomes illegal to do so." She comments as he climbs from the large black vehicle.
"It isn't illegal to talk Z, just highly frowned upon to see each other in person."
"I don't think we should have this talk over the phone." She shrugs, "Thanks." She adds as he holds the door open for her to enter.
"Maybe I don't want to have this conversation? Ever thought of that?" Calum snaps slightly, tossing his keys into the dish on the counter.
"We need to have this conversation Calum."
"Not now. It could have waited."
"Until when? It's been ten months! Were you actually under the impression this lockdown would last two weeks? That we could talk in a month? Or were you going to use this lockdown as an excuse to ghost me?" her eyes have gone hard too.
"Don't you dare say it's been ten months Zeppelynn. It has been two weeks, maybe! You don't get to rope the nine fucking months where it was on you into my issues. It's been two weeks since I talked to you, not ten months. And I have the fucking right to be angry!" Calum rounds quickly, pointing at her angrily from across the room.
"YOU SAID YOU FORGAVE ME!" She fires right back.
"I thought I had! But it was deeper than that! I got caught up in the emotions of that day and of having you there! I was wrong! I didn't mean to be but I was. I haven't forgotten what happened, or fully forgiven you. You fucking broke me!" His voice cracks sharply with emotion.
"I know."
"So why are you here then? Pushing all of that on me again without warning or permission! Why did you show up at my house today? What did you hope to accomplish?" He breathes deeply, trying to get in control of his emotions.
"I miss you." She whispers, as if she is afraid of her own confession.
"Well fuck Z! I missed you for nearly two months and then when I finally got you back you destroyed my heart! And I missed you for months, I still miss you, us, what we had. But you changed what that was, you ruined it for me, for us. So sorry if I'm not overly sympathetic about the fact that now you've decided you messed up and miss me. You had me, all of me was yours, and you threw me to the side like an old rag." his voice wavers again.
"I'm sorry!" She cries out, "I didn't want to hurt you."
'"BULLSHIT!" He yells loudly, startling her back slightly, "Bullshit you didn't want to hurt me. You knew exactly what you were doing and then you added the I hate you on top of it!"
