Together, the seven carefully buried Gothel. Ella realized something, and pulled out her mother's leaf, planting it atop Gothel's grave.
But their ceremony was interrupted by another earthquake. The giant had returned.
"Now what?!" Little Red screamed. Jack looked embarrassed. "Oh. I forgot."
"The giant," everyone groaned.
"By now I'm sure half the kingdom is trampled," Ella said. "We must find a way to put this to an end."
"GLUE!" Char suddenly realized. He began hopping up and down like an enthusiastic child.
"Glue! Glue! Glue!" he shouted with glee.
Little Red smirked. "Wow. Looks like some prince is excited."
Char continued jumping. "Let's set up a trap for the giant! We can lure him to an area, and trap him in glue!"
"Yeah!" Ella agreed. "Just like someone did to me!" She looked directly at Char.
They both laughed. Little Red suddenly perked up. "Great idea! Then we'll set up Jack for the giant!"
"Yeah- wait WHAT?!" Jack looked terrified. "No way! I'm not in to get killed by a giant!"
"No silly!" Little Red giggled. "We'll use you as bait to get the giant."
"Still not my favorite plan," Jack hesitated, but then held out his hand. "But count me in. And how about a sleeping spell? My harp can play all sorts of tunes!"
"Sure why not?" Little Red grinned. Everyone got to work.
The trap was ready. All they needed was the giant. Everyone got into their positions. The baker, Char, and Jack hid in a tall tree, and Ella, Little Red, Rapunzel, and the baker's wife stayed low to the ground behind some bushes.
thump... Thump... THUMP... THUMP...
"Where is he?!" a deep voice boomed. The three girls took a step back, looking up at a cranky giant. Little Red was the first to scream, "The giant's a WOMAN?!"
"My husband is too lazy to come down here," the giant continued. "He doesn't even realize his harp is gone!" Little Red burst into laughter. "That's unheard of!" she snorted.
"Yes it is..." the giant muttered. She snapped back to attention. "But I must find that little thief!"
"Little thief!" Little Red was now rolling on the ground, hyperventilating from laughter.
"WHERE IS HE?!" the giant roared.
Little Red immediately shot back up. "He's hiding in that tree," she quickly said. Her response sounded more like, "He's-hiding-in-that-tree."
"Oh, thank you," the giant bellowed. "Once I get that little thief, I shall leave the kingdom."
"Little thief..." Little Red giggled.
THUMP... THUMP... Thump... thump...
The four girls bent down, waiting. The boys on the other hand, saw the giant turning towards them.
"It's coming," Jack whispered.
