Have you heard of the musical (now movie) Into the Woods? It's a phenomenal story with memorable songs. I am a huge fan of it. Ever since I was little, I've loved fairy tales. And that's exactly what Into the Woods is!

Into the Woods is a story containing all of the well-known fairy tales such as Cinderella, Jack (and the beanstalk), Rapunzel, and Little Red Riding Hood. The story shows the possible consequences wishes can lead to. Unfortunately, (yes, spoilers ahead) the ending is rather dark, with many memorable characters dying.

But yet, I love it with all of my heart. Wishes is basically a remake of Into the Woods. Instead of going beyond "happily ever after", Wishes ends there. Of course though, the ending is not the greatest and happiest ending though, but that makes Wishes more realistic (not that it already is very realistic).

But you know how there are many different variations to fairy tales, so I thought, why not combine them all together? So that's what I did.

For the Cinderella story, I combined the Perrault version, the Grimm brothers version, the new Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella musical, Ella Enchanted, the Disney version, and of course, Into the Woods.

For Jack, I mainly used Into the Woods and Ella Enchanted. But for Jack's personality, I made him similar to Tom Canty in Prince and the Pauper.

For Rapunzel, although you don't really get to connect with her, you do connect with Gothel. This Rapunzel story mixes the Into the Woods story and the Disney Tangled version.

And then of course, there's Little Red. The majority of her story came from Into the Woods, and her personality is based on  Pinkie Pie from the new My Little Pony.

I never loved the way Into the Woods ended. I also never loved the predictable endings in the other versions either. But I kept what I did love: the new story they have to tell.

I give all of my credit mainly to James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim. But I'd also like to mention Rodgers and Hammerstein, Gail Carson Levine, the creators of Disney Tangled, the creators of Disney's Cinderella, Perrault, and of course, the Grimm brothers.

Thank you very much for giving me your inspirations.
