Via stared into the eyes of the bane of her existence. Literally, the bane of her existence. Sure he was hot. With his muscular arms and rigid abs that were overflowing with tattoos, he was a hunk. His black hair looked slightly rough like he runs his hands through them regularly and Via couldn't look past his gorgeous blue eyes. Yes, he was handsome but that didn't stop her from loathing him. He is a murderer, an unjust being, the reason why she can't have freedom, the leader of a group that terrorizes her people; a Witch hunter.

"Consul Hegens" he said. "Pier Adrin", she greeted while standing boldly to face him, "I would say it's a pleasure to meet you but that would be a terrible lie". "The feeling is mutual". He shot back. She frowned deeply at Manter Adrin. He is the Pier of the Spiral Oren. An Oren is a group of Witch Hunters. The Orens are divided into four; Spiral Oren, Curved Oren, Straight Oren and Round Oren. There are not many Witch Hunters in the Orens but that's because the others work in the background at The Infern. The Infern is just like The Agency just that witches have a council.

"What do you want?" Via asked disgusted,, "your services are not needed here". "I couldn't disagree more". Manter had his eyes on Jyla. Via turned to scan Jyla. Jyla hugged herself with her eyes widely opened. She was scared if not terrified. I can't let them take her. She thought strongly. "She's new", Via explained, "and just like the others before her, she couldn't control her powers". "The law doesn't allow her to hurt the sapiens and if her powers were strong enough to require the Spiral Oren, then she's nothing but bad news. Just like you".

"All I have done in the course of my work here is to protect the sapiens as well as my witches".

"She breaks the law, she gets the punishment. You know that very well".

"I'm not letting you touch her", Via could feel her anger rising but she controlled it, "besides, she didn't kill anyone". "We'll be the judges of that". The Witch Hunter behind Manter said holding a 12' inch glow stick. He is Manter's second-in-command, Valer Fevv. Valer is almost the same height as Manter. He has dark brown hair and light brown eyes. He had several marks along his cheeks which suggested that he smiled a lot. He was equally handsome but not as muscular.

Via watch as he waved the glow stick all around the room. The bottom of the stick glowed a light shade of green. "She barely got them injured", he announced, "but they are unconscious". Via faced Manter with a look as if to say 'I told you so'. "Luck" Manter spat, "keep your little dog on a leash". "She's not an animal, Manter". That was the first time in a year that she had called him out by his first name. Especially with that serious tone of hers.

Via meant that as a blurt but his taken aback look encouraged her to say more. "As in female. She might be a witch but that doesn't make her any less. Neither does it make me or any of the witches in Solegad". "I'd watch that tone if I were you", Manter warned trying to keep his temper, "this is her first and final warning. If she harms sapiens or worse, kills anyone...I will do what is necessary". Via scoffed, "do what is necessary?!" She chuckled.

She stared him dead in the eyes with detest. "You don't know a thing about doing what's necessary", she said, "you fume witches. Innocent witches!" "Innocent and witches don't go in the same sentence". Valer cut in. Via glared at him which made him uncomfortable. She turned her attention back to Manter, "just because we're witches, it doesn't mean we're monsters", she said shaking her head, "you're the real monster here. You fume witches without trial and you call that justice?! There lived their entire lives as sapiens still, you never protected them. Sapiens are just profane because they can frustrate one to the point of insecurity. New witches are a danger to themselves more than sapiens. You and I both know that but you just use sapiens as a cover for your real intentions".

"Isn't it your job as a leader to help them control it?" Manter shot back.

"Well, it might be my job but it's hard to work when you have no one to work with. It's on this spot that I'm actually realizing something. I haven't had a witch in two years and you haven't come to complain about any to me. Is it just a big coincidence or you had something to do with it?" He opened his mouth but no words came out. Confirming that they fumed all the witches made her mad with anger.

Via walked closer to him. Her eyes were looking glassy because of the angry tears that welled up. "I am a leader who will do anything to protect my people but first, I will do what is right. You and all your minions are nothing but cowards! Cowards who hide behind old grudges and are blinded by pride and violence", she said without her voice breaking, "Jyla stays with me no matter what. And this is a threat. If I ever set my eyes on any Witch Hunter who wishes to harm my witches, he or she will answer to me and I won't spare you".

The room fell silent. Via's heavy breathing due to her burning fury was the only sound airing out. The other Witch Hunters (three guys and two girls) couldn't keep a straight face with Via. Jyla who was still feeling totally unsafe walked closer to Via. Via looked at her with so much emotion. "I'm here for you okay?" Via assured her, "I won't let them hurt you. Ever". "I believe you". Jyla nodded slowly. She and Jyla shook on it.

Both their palms were burning and it was draining some kind of energy and then replacing it. The feeling was unusual but they both shook it off. The Witch Hunters watched them carry this on. Via snapped her fingers and a portal appeared, "as much as I would hate to continue this", Via smiled, "I have better things to handle. See you another. Not that it would be pleasant". With those last words, Via grabbed Jyla and pulled her through the portal. This was definitely not the last they would see of the Witch Hunters.
