now playing: hold my girl by George Ezra
"bakugou! what happened—" kirishima's words of panic got interrupted when the blond engulfed him into a huge hug. he clenched his fists around the material of kirishima's uniform as he cried into his chest. the red-head wrapped his hands around bakugou quickly. "bakugou?""i hurt her!" he exclaimed. "t-they took her away and it's all my fault because i hurt her!"
kirishima pulled away and cupped both of bakugou's shoulders. he looked deeply into his red eyes before bringing his thumbs up to wipe bakugou's tears. "slow down," kirishima paused when bakugou gently grabbed ahold of kirishimas hands with his own. "start at the beginning."
"yuki," he gulped and looked down at the ground as his eyes watered again. "she met me after the awarding c-ceremony."
kirishima nodded softly, rubbing his thumbs up and down bakugou's cheeks. "then what happened?"
"panic attack..." he murmured.
"you had one?" kirishima inquired. bakugou nodded softly.
"she was trying to calm me down, but it was worse than she thought it was— i was..." bakugou started to stammer on his words. "i was not even there..."
"what do you mean? can you explain?" kirishima asked, maintaining eye contact with the weeping boy. bakugou mustered up a weak nod.
"i was too panicked to even realize she was there..." bakugou's lip trembled more as he remembered. "i- i burnt her kirishima. i hurt her because i thought she was him!"
kirishima gasped lightly at his full name flooding from bakugou's mouth. he was so used to the many nicknames he had been given that his actual name sounded odd. "you thought she was who bakugou?"
bakugou collapsed onto his knees, sending kirishima down with him since his hands were still on bakugou's cheeks. "the sludge villain!" he wailed. "i-i didn't mean to! i hurt her and—"
"but you didn't mean to, you just said that," kirishima huffed as he cradled bakugou's fragile and tired body. "you know you didn't mean to."
bakugou sobs were loud but were starting to come to end since tears were refusing to come out of his eyes anymore.
after a while of bakugou's tears stopping, the pair sat in silence. kirishima thought he had gotten the most he was going to get out of the boy, but then he spoke again. "she was golden."
kirishima paused running his fingers through the ash-blond hair to look down at him. bakugou had his eyes barely open as he sprawled out across kirishima's lap. he could tell how physically exhausted the boy was. "did you say golden?"
"yeah," the shorter croaked. "she tried to heal me... heal my panic attack away."
"bakugou," kirishima sighed and lifted him up off his lap a little so his arms were around him. he didn't want his friend to be laying on the ground. "yuki can only heal physical injuries."
"that's what i thought too..." his voice trailed off into soft mumbles. "but she grabbed my face and started to glow in a golden hue. i don't remember all of it but she was so bright— and i felt so calm after."
"she can heal mental injuries?" kirishima asked himself. "i knew she was training with aizawa but this..."
he felt bakugou clutch onto his arms harder and a small gasp left his lips. "what is it bakugou?"
"before she... lost consciousness," bakugou whispered and turned his head into kirishima's chest. "she called me... by my given name."
"she called you katsuki?" bakugou nodded and nuzzled his head into his chest more.
