Yuki found herself deep in thought as she walked with her class down the hall. She was scared that the quirk assessment wouldn't let her quirk show its true potential. Although her quirk was one she was more than happy to have been gifted with, she knew it wasn't physically intimidating. It was nothing like having sweat warped with nitroglycerin, or being half cold and half boiling. Yuki blew a breath out of her nose and focused her eyes on the floor in front of her.
Yuki felt a nudge softly push her to the left. "Why the long face?" Kirishima asked quietly, walking comfortably next to the girl. "Is something the matter?"
"Oh, it's nothing." Yuki had begun before tilting her head up from the floor to look at him. His red hair looked like a hospital sign under the orange hue of the hall lighting. "Just... nervous I guess."
Kirishima smirked softly and slung his arm around Yuki's shoulders. She tensed at the feeling of his arm's weight falling over her skin. She tried her best not to push him off, and hovering under his touch as they walked. "Don't be! We both know how amazing your quirk is."
"I suppose so." Yuki murmured. "My quirk isn't that flashy... like yours. I just want to be able to show what I can do, but it's not like I'll really be working in the field anyway, not unless someone needs a nurse." She paused slowly, wrapping her arms around her torso.
"Don't you worry about that." Kirishima concluded with a simple nod of his head. "Flashy or not, that doesn't determine how cool your quirk is." He used his hand that was over her shoulder to pat her arm. "And besides, everyone always needs a nurse— especially young, careless first years like us."
"Not Yuki and Kiri flirting already!" Mina giggled as both Kaminari and her skipped up to the pair. She bumped her shoulder into Kirishima's, which made the pair close in together. Yuki clenched her jaw; stepping away from the two of them right away. Her hands were wrapped up in fists.
The red-head shot a glance at Yuki. He saw how uncomfortable the action had made her, even if her face wasn't flushed or reading clear embarrassment. Her body language was a tell enough; she looked as though she was a bubble-bee that had been prodded too much by the wind.
Kirishima huffed out a sigh of frustration as Mina bumped her hip into his. He rolled his eyes. "How many times do I have to tell you that we're just friends?" He gritted through his teeth.
"But-" Mina had begun to argue. Kirishima simply shook his head as the four of them walked out into the battle ground.
"We've known each other for like two days Mina," Kirishima clicked his tongue as he walked a little ahead of the group. He put his hands in his pockets and shrugged. "Lay off a bit, yeah?" Yuki's cheeks were pinched pink, leaving a sunset imprint of what he thought was acute embarrassment. "Please, don't make me ask you again."
"Fine!" She whined with a stomp of her foot. "But only because we're in class."
"I don't think that's what he meant, Mina," Kaminari exhaled a soft laugh as he looked to Kirishima.
"If I can't ship Yuki and Kirishima," Mina sighed and crossed her arms over her chest, "then I'll ship her with me!"
"I'm sorry?" Kirishima choked out then laughed as he twisted to his friend. "Excuse me?" he echoed, amused. "That is your solution? To flirt with her?"
"Oh can you blame me? Just look at her! She absolutely precious!" Mina complimented as she stared at Yuki in awe. "Let me love you, you winter beauty." She mumbled. Yuki let an airy chuckle slip past her lips and looked up at Kirishima.
