now playing: good girls by beach bunny
"no but..." yuki let her words trail on as she rolled her sleeve back down. shigaraki clicked his tongue softly and stood back up from his squatted position.
"you're fine now," he pressed. "we should go back down."
yuki frantically shook her head at his statement. "n-no!" she murmured and pulled her knees to her chest as she scooted further onto the bed. "he's down there," she sheepishly laid her head down on her knees.
shigaraki furrowed his eyebrows, "dabi?" he asked and yuki nodded. "i told him to leave," he watched as she took a breath and ran her sweaty palms over her pants to dry them. shigaraki flicked some hair out of his eyes as he stared at her a little longer. "what is it about him?" he hummed with a sigh.
"what?" she picked her head up slowly to ask.
"he's annoying, but what really sent you into that panic attack?" he pondered, taking a seat next to the girl slowly, to make sure his grip on her bicep didn't loosen. "i mean did he really scare you that bad?"
yuki placed her chin down onto her knee again as she fluttered her eyes away from him. "no... hes done things—"
"he's a villain bunny," shigaraki interrupted as the small pet name rolled off of his tongue without him realizing. "that's what we do, we do things."
yuki let the nickname slide, for it didn't bother her. the way shigaraki's voice formed around the name was calming and meant no harm like bakugou or kirishima, so she didn't mind it at all.
she shrugged her shoulders softly. "he's done bad things," she paused. "to me."
shigaraki twisted his head to face her. "like, before today?" he asked.
she gave a sad nod of her head. "three years ago," she felt shigaraki's eyes on her, though they were filled with wonder. her words were coded with secret messages that he didn't quite understand, but he stared longer because he wanted to.
"three years ago?" he inquired more to himself than to yuki. "he wasn't even a villain then... i think."
"he wasn't—" yuki reached up to rub her eyes. "but deep down i think he was," she paused momentarily. "because he never would have done what he did if he was any type of hero."
shigaraki reached out with his free hand and gently titled her face to be able to look at him. "what did he do," he asked as his eyes danced across her emotionless face.
"stuff," she huffed at the thought of reliving it again. "why do you want to know?" yuki asked, but true curiosity was laced in her tone. "you're a villain— aren't bad things good?"
"im a villain yes," shigaraki breathed, letting his fingers fall from yuki's jaw. "but i'm not an asshole," he sighed. "now i need to know what he did because he is apart of my league."
yuki stared blankly at her lap for a few moments. "he, um," she paused and licked her lips as she found the courage to explain. "when i was thirteen, he worked for my dad as a house keeper. he soon turned into a nanny, sort of looking after me since i was always alone. he saw that i attached to him and ... took advantage of it. he would help me sleep almost every night before he was off shift and one night he um..." she sighed deeply. "he crawled into my bed saying he wanted to try something new. something different."
