Being With You

Nishinoya stares up at the once bright sky, observing dark clouds forming above with occasional rays of the sun sipping through.

"It seems it's about to rain." He uttered before looking back at the closed door behind him. "But I hope not now."

It was twelve-thirty in the afternoon and he still awaits the blonde-haired girl who accepted to meet him. Nishinoya hurried ahead to the rooftop, thrilled to get another opportunity to be with Octavia.

He waited for her like he said he would as he maintained his increasing heartbeat. Nishinoya was not only feeling excited but is also nervous. Their days jointly consist of a short conversation, tiny gestures, but departing with elegant smiles, and it was enough to brighten up his days with bright colors.

Hearing the metal doorknob twisted. Nishinoya turned to look behind him and immediately a wonderful smile made its way on his lips.

"Octavia-san!" Nishinoya said her name heartily like any other day and ran towards her. The blonde girl couldn't help but soon smile to see the short boy, closing the door behind her. Octavia was caught off guard at the gesture Nishinoya performed, even though he has done attempts before daily whenever their paths cross but fell flat.

Nishinoya caught her into an embrace to which Octavia accepted. No words were exchanged by then, only basking in each of their presence.

After a few seconds, they withdrew from each other and Octavia starts up to converse, her cheeks tinged slightly rosy. "You surprised me, Nishinoya." Were the string of words spoken out of her mouth earning a stunning smile from him that the blonde girl giggles in return.

The two proceed to the wall and settled down on the concrete floor there shoulders closely brushing as they sat. "Ne, Nishinoya, I'm sorry if our conversation will be somewhat small because of the time." Octavia looks down apologetic. "I truly hope to be here early, but Chiaki-chan insisted to come along so I had to convince her she doesn't, she can be a bit protective you see."

Nishinoya nods in understanding. "It's alright, Octavia-san! No matter how short our time together is as long as you are here, I'm glad to spend every moment with you!" He let out eagerly before he shies away realizing what he had confessed, covering his flushed face with his hands.

The blond girl laughs at his reaction and looks up at the forming dark clouds in the background. "Me too, Nishinoya," Octavia utters. The libero retracted his hands to face Octavia, her expression was soft as she stares at the sky. Nishinoya couldn't help but watch in awe and as she glances back at him, his mind thought back to the conversation he had with Leonel.

"Please don't keep her waiting for too long."

Suddenly, another thought came to his mind.

"---It would be better if the news came from you or Octavia."

Nishinoya tries to contemplate what it means but to no avail. It made him somewhat uneasy to hear Sugawara saying those words.

"By the way, Nishinoya." Octavia broke his trail of thought and gains his full attention. "What did my brother told you honestly?" A small smile then made its way across Nishinoya's face in realizing the main reason for them meeting privately was their conversation last night.

"For now, I should not be thinking about it." He thought before grinning at Octavia. "It's a secret!"

For now at least.
