You both slowly pulled away from the hug, your faces inches apart for just one moment.
You watched him with uncertainty. He looked like he might kiss you, but at the same time, you had only just started to become close again. He wouldn't kiss you this soon, would he?
"I'm sorry for getting angry," you whispered. Your hands were shaking, so you slowly steadied them on Peter's arms.
"I wouldn't call that angry," he laughed.
You smiled back up at him, eyes locked on each other.
"I still can't believe Nick Fury tranquilized you."
He closed his eyes, smiling. "It's...a Fury thing I guess.
Ned interrupted the two of you by opening the door.
"Hey Pe—oh, y/n. Hey. Sorry guys."
He walked between you both and you awkwardly separated.
Peter had calmed you down enough to tell him everything that was going on.
Once Ned was far away enough to not hear, you told him about the projector.
"The monsters can't be fake though, I mean, we felt the lava, at least I did—"
"My legs were almost fried, trust me, I know. But watch."
You pressed a button and the projector came on. Air blasted out of the side of it and almost blew the wallpaper off of the wall.
"You weren't kidding," said Peter, reaching for it.
"Uh, may I?"
"Go ahead," you laughed.
He examined it for himself, messing around with the different sides.
"Be careful with that, you might kill me."
He stopped moving it around. "Right."
"We need to expose Mysterio." His head perked up. "I have an idea. Y/n, I need you to tell Mr. Harrington and Mr. Dell that I'm staying in Berlin with some relatives until Aunt May can come get me."
"Berlin?" you asked.
"Fury said there was a meeting in Berlin, I need to go—"
"You can't just up and leave and go put yourself in the middle of all of this—"
"If not me, then who, y/n? I don't want to save the world—I mean, I—I want to help people, but..."
"You don't have to go alone—"
"No, no," he shook his head. "You need to stay here, okay? I can't promise that I can keep you out of danger if you're with me."
"Peter, please listen to me—"
"Y/n," he grabbed your arms gently and moved a few inches closer. "Listen to me. I care about you, and I don't know if you feel the same—"
"What?" you asked, your voice barely a whisper. "Why would you say that?"
"Say what?"
"You think I don't care about you? Peter...why would you ever think that? You're my best friend! I'm sitting here practically begging you to stay because I don't want to see you dead!"
The clock chimed eight times, signaling eight A.M.
"I have to go, y/n..." said Peter, opening the door back to his room.
He left the door open, so you followed him in. You knew he had to go fight, you couldn't stop that. But you might be able to convince him to let you fight with him.
