17: Let's get the kid...

Y/n POV

We arrived at My agency and left Koda with my assistant who was ecstatic to look after a child. Hawks gave Koda one of his feathers and clipped it to a strand of hair so that he never loses it.

"Are you really alright with Koda calling you mom?" I heard Hawks ask me the other side of the door, as I changed into my hero outfit.

"Koda asked me to," I answered "He said, that he had never seen someone like me, a woman, that would care for him so much in such a short period of time." I heavily exhaled while putting my hair up. I heard Hawks pacing up and down the room. "I am surprised the kid got so quickly adjusted, I didn't expect him to welcome us this easily." I pulled my mask up and left the bathroom. Hawks was still pacing. He probably hadn't recovered from before, and I don't blame him...

"By the way," I say now louder since I was in the same room "How did you even get the permission to be his guardian so quickly?" He looked at me and then down.

"Well, not long after you left, I called the Commission and they sent over a person who was prepared to take Koda away. But the kid wouldn't let go of me and was about to pull the same stunt as you did when you left,"

"I jumped out of a window" I crossed my eyebrows and my arms.

"Yeah, exactly." A silence filled the air 

"Koda made it clear that the only people he would talk or be with is the two of us." He awkwardly placed his hand on the back of his head and slightly blushed "And with all honesty, I didn't want him to go"

'Keigo, what a softy you are.' I smiled at him and got closer and placed my hand on his shoulder.

"Well, it's time to save the other one, so that the nightmare would finally end for both of them."

I walked out of the door while Hawks opened the balcony and looked over at me in confusion.

"Are you coming?" He questioned.

"Yes, hold on, I need to speak to Erica, my assistant." I left the room. "Hey Erica," Koda was with her, looking a little shy but as soon as he saw me, he smiled and run towards me.

"Miss Noch?" Erica questioned, "What's the problem?"

"Hey, kid" I picked him up and walked to Erica "Erica, I want you to take good care of him, okay? Keep him in the agency." I started to instruct her "You are welcome to use my private room upstairs, but please make sure that he doesn't leave your sight and this agency. I will cover all the expenses." She nodded and I wanted to pass Koda to her but he clutched onto me.

"Hey, kid." I looked at him and he looked at me "Me and Hawks have to go. We don't know how long it's going to take, so Erica here will take very good care of you. Ask her whatever you want and she will protect you whatever will happen, okay?" I looked at him and he scooped my face into his little hands and held it.

"Okay mommy" he gave me a dashing smile, I bet he picked it up from Hawks.

'Mommy, huh?' I thought and placed him on the floor and looked back at Erica.

"Keep an eye on him. If anything happens, call Amajiki, he would be able to handle it, and if something completely horrible and unexpected happens, call me." She nodded and I lightly tapped Koda's nose.

I turned around and saw Hawks leaning onto the door frame with a dreamy look on his face. Something in my chest pinged a little and I smiled at the sign of him looking.....
