Y/n POV
It's been 3 weeks since the incident.
The Hero Public Safety Commission did a number on me. I was not allowed into the 'hero' field, even though my body was pretty much healed because of all the healers that were visiting me multiple times a day. Instead of doing my job, I spent a lot of time regaining back my flexibility and strength since those were the two main aspects of the "Strangler".
I was also working closely with the League on their further plans. During that time I had gotten quite a few worrying rumours. The League, and in particular Dabi, were looking to recruit one of the top heroes. I never asked them because my cover didn't allow for me to care about the recruitments of the league. In the League's gang, I was always referred to as a wild child, someone who doesn't care about the formalities and does what I want. To be fair, that's not very far from my true identity... except less brutal.
The queen of ice, Dabi would teas.
As time was passing, I developed a somewhat platonic relationship with Dabi. It was all fun and games for him, but I took every part of it very seriously. Even though I didn't feel a thing for him, and always remained cold, I saw how with every cold tease he grew warmer and warmer towards me. He was very similar to me, running around doing all sorts of nasty things and not answering to anyone. Something about his persona was worrying to me and I wanted to know the identity of all the villains.
But I didn't spend all my time with the League, I was able to sneak and be home a few times a week, while everyone thought I was out, killing people. Brother took residence in my apartment after I asked him to look after Roku, who was under my protection and watch.
An incident happened in the hospital right around when I woke up. His quirk got out of control and even though it was not very destructive, physically, his feathers and anyone they came in contact with caused those people to become overwhelmed. Their senses and thoughts were telepathically shared and amplified. The only person who could prevent him from going out of control was me. The commission thought it was best if the twins were divided and different people would watch after them. Hawks took Koda and I took Roku. It was a perfect fit, except for the fact that I was made to return to the mission almost as soon as I stepped out of the hospital.
Hawks also almost disappeared from the public. He made half as many social visits, and even though he was constantly saving people, he became more mysterious and concerned for something... and that date offer from Hawks was still pending.
"Hey y/n" Roku looked at me from the table where he sat drawing.
"Thank god you are back" I heard Shota say somewhere from the bottom corner and when I walked around the couch he was in his sleeping bag, staring at the phone.
"Good to see you too," I answer as I fall flat onto the couch.
"Hawks brought you those," and he pointed at a kitchen counter where a rose was laying...along with a bucket of fried chicken. "He is worried y/n" I look at Shota as if he just dropped a bomb on me because he did. Emotions were somewhat unknown territory for me.
'Hawks is worried?Why?'
"What do you mean?"
"He didn't say much, but he is worried that something bad is going to happen, to you or to the kid. He also wished he would get a chance to see you again." I lowered my head and thought. We haven't seen each other in 3 weeks and I.... I actually missed him. We went from working and being together every day and almost every night to not seeing and even being able to talk to each other at all.
"Of course he would," I whispered
"Look what I made" Roku tapped my shoulder and showed me a painting. It was black and white with two bright parts: vermilion blobs attached to a figure and bright f/c dots that were in the middle of the other figures head. "It's you and Hawks" he said with a smile.
"That is beautiful Roku" the boy sleepily rubbed his eyes "Alright, let's go to bed" I smiled at him and picked him up. He fell limp in my arms, the only place where he was able to fall asleep as fast as he did just now.
"Are you going to be watching the UA sports festival?" Shota asked while standing next to the guest bedroom that became his for the time.
"Yes, I wish I was there in person, but the commission... damn them." I angrily said the last part. "I want to look for some interesting quirks, no doubt."
"I heard about Amajiki."
"Yeah, he wasn't happy when I told him that I will be out of the hero game for a bit. Luckily he had an offer straight away from Fat Gum, well, he wanted the kid for a while now" I smirked thinking about the kid "He should be fine."
"Looking for anyone else to replace him?"
"God no, but looking for someone to mentor, that's another thing." We nodded at each other and went into the opposite rooms.
"Oh, btw, I will be on the lookout for you too tomorrow, that damn Present Mic talked me into commentating the whole thing, so I'll be stuck there for a while."
"Thanks, brother, for everything."
Being a new guardian and then not even being able to do it properly, absolutely sucked, but the commission wouldn't have it any other way.
The next day when the first day of the UA sports festival started, the whole league gathered around the TV and watched. Making subtle comments and drinking. Even though I was laying seemingly not very interested in the whole situation, I was watching, closely, every single one of them. Taking in mental notes.
A kid stood out to me, Shinso, his quirk was brainwashing, very useful and yet he lacked the physical abilities.
"That kid looks interesting" I murmured "He's got a nice little quirk" everyone agreed with me and had a little conversation that didn't interest me, I still heard it, but didn't focus on it.
Throughout the whole festival, one kid, in particular, stood out to the League- Katski Bakugo.
"He can be very useful" I heard Shigaraki whisper as his whole being started to hatch an evil plan
'What are you planning to do with the kid?' I thought until someone scooped me out of the bar chair and pressed me against the wall nearby.
Dabi.
"What do you want?" I tiredly question as he kissed my neck.
"You." He made a few kisses and then looked at me again "I just want you to know, that I am not sharing this" and he pushed himself against me "with anyone else." My collar bones and shoulders were next on his list of things to kiss.
"As if there are any other choices" I smirked at him, ignoring that we weren't alone.
"Well, our ranks will grow and I happen to know one of them is a ladies killer..." I interrupted him
"Then I can't wait to meet him" He scooped me off the ground and I wrapped my legs around his waist.
"Could you at least do it in another room, jeez" Shigaraki sighed
"Looks like the kids aren't happy," Dabi said with a devilish smile as he pressed his lips against mine and carried me off to the room near by.
'God, I hate him...and this.' But I played the role anyway.
'I wish it was... Keigo...' I admitted to myself.
