23: The red dress

Hawks' POV

Today is the day of a big social gathering that is going to be happening to celebrate the annual autumn holidays that I honestly don't remember or am very interested to know what it's called. All I know is that there is a chance that y/n is going to be there. Most likely she wouldn't go because it is a social gathering after all and Five isn't about that life. But a man can hope.

«Hey dad!» Koda ripped me out of my thoughts as I was adjusting my vermilion tie.

«Hey kiddo,» I look at him as he stands next to me with my glasses loosely hanging around his neck and his messy hair were a little bit spikier today.

«Dad! I am you! Look!» And he brings my glasses up to his face and holds them with one hand so that they don't fall and with another he motions around, imitating the flapping of wings. I look at him running across the room with a huge soft smile on my face. He had adjusted quite well to the more or less normal life. His nightmares no longer haunt him, at least as much as they used to do, but he hadn't seen his brother in a while now, only through video calls, but Koda seems to be pretty happy.

He jumps onto the bed and stands into the hero pose.

«I, Koda Hawks, will save mom from all the bad things that are ever to happen to her!» He almost yelled.

'Mom?' A sudden wave of sadness arose in my chest. Noch hasn't been a part of his life for very long and yet he is attached to her... 'Save her...'

«Come here, you little birdling!» I laugh as I launch myself towards the bad and embrace him into my arms. He laughs and hugs me back. «Okay, give me this» I take the glasses away from his head and place it on my head.

«Will you be saving mom?» He suddenly asked.

«I don't think she will need to be saved, Koda.» I sighed as I think about Her.

«No dad! Mommy has to be saved! She needs you!» He took my face into my hands and then he continues «I saw her the other day during the call with Roku and she looked so sad,» he paused «I think she was crying. Only you can save her!»

My heart completely broke.

Y/n.... Five.... What the hell is happening to you?

«I will do my best kiddo.» I smile at him and he jumps down from my arms and sits down on the bed looking at me, continuing getting ready. Suddenly my phone rang.

«Hello?» I answer without looking at the collar id.

«Hawks?» I hear a painfully familiar voice that jolted me away from the mirror and my whole concentration was towards the person on the other side of the phone.

«Y/n? Hey!» I cheerfully said «What are you up to right now? Long time, no talk or see»

Killing it Keigo

«I know this is super last minute, but I need to know if you have a date for tonight?» She questioned and my heart stopped as a huge smile grew on my face.

«Why, no, I don't,» I said in my signature seductive voice. «What, are you interested?» I grinned into the phone.

What are you doing? What are you doing? Stupid birdbrain. 

«Yes» I froze.

There was a long silence on the other side of the phone, but as I opened my mouth she spoke first.
