"Silence my slippery friend!" A hiss erupted from a hooded figure. Celeste stood as a bystander in her dream as she watched two figures she could not see erupt into an argument.
"I thought it was best for now that I keep my distance from the girl-"
"And how did you come to that conclusion!" The other said as he raised his hand and slapped the other hard round the face.
"I was not the one who put her in danger the other night! I thought for her safety, which is the overall goal, that I would take a step back. She was almost killed, this way I can still keep an eye on her, influence her implicitly without endangering her life completely. We cannot afford to lose her, my lord".
"Silence!" As the other turned, Celeste felt her body grow cold as the figure revealed himself to be Voldemort. "It is a good thing I have taken precautions..." Celeste tried to grasp as the dream faded away from her.
She woke up in a sweat and panicked gasps. She hadn't seen Voldemort in her dreams for a while, she hadn't dreamt at all in a while really. But whenever he showed his face it was the worst, and she had trouble falling back asleep. After what Snape had told her that day in his office, that for some reason he wants something from her, any dream of him worried her it was not a dream at all. It was a prediction.
She hopped out of bed and crept out of her room, knowing she would not be able to sleep peacefully without someone next to her. Dracos room, being just down the hall, called out to her. Celeste was light on her toes, however, even then, the floorboards creaked. She winced as the old floorboards screamed under her weight, and her heart began to thump when she heard shuffling from a nearby room. The only room she really wanted to be in.
With a quick whip of the door being opened, a small gust of wind blew back her hair as the door was opened so fast, whisping back her hair, exposing her chest that was only covered by a small tank top. "What are you doing up?" Lucius clenched his jaw as he looked at the young witch.
"Bad dream" she choked her heart hurting from their conversation earlier. "I didn't mean to wake you, I was heading to Dracos room", she explained as if she were talking to a teacher. The passion and intensity she once felt around were replaced with a cold aura; as if Lucius now wanted nothing to do with her, even irritated by her presence. His eye twitched a little at her words.
"Very well, but try not to wake the whole house up as you go", he said snarkily as he whipped back around and into his room without another word.
His coldness made her quiver, and she blinked back tears. Why am I feeling like this? She thought. How did I manage to get myself here? Fawning over a man, old enough to be my father, a man who can be cruel and distant. And I was stupid enough to fall in lo-. No. I can't be in love with him, how can I be? When he can be that cruel? Leading me on practically for sport. I am cleverer than that.
The voices in her head argued back and forth as she scurried down the corridor to Dracos room, opening the door quickly and slinking inside. "Celeste?!" Draco stirred almost immediately, ripping off the covers to comfort her. He wrapped her in his arms and pulled her to his chest. "I was so worried, I believe father put something in my drink to make me sleep, otherwise I would have gone after you. I'm so glad you're safe".
"Can I sleep here?" she said into his chest. Draco smiled into her hair.
"Of course darling".
