Chapter VIII

~Tara~

"Tara we need milk!" Corie yells to my throughout the apartment.

I groan and stumble out of bed and into the kitchen. "What? I got milk yesterday."

"Yeah I know but we both had milk and cookies yesterday plus a whole lot of cereal." She says in a duh tone.

"Oh yeah." I say rubbing my eyes, "Let me guess it's my turn to get groceries?"

"Yep", she says happily as some bread pops out of the toaster.

I nod, still sleepy and go to get dressed. It seemed like hours for me to get to my car, but when I looked at the clock, it had only taken me ten. Starting the car I drive off to the grocery store.

The grocery store was quite big but it also had good prices considering milk was $2.00 here and $5.00 at another place, ridiculous!

I quickly grab a cart knowing that I'll come out with a crap load of stuff, if Corie keeps texting me. She had been texting me last minute needs and such.
It took me a bit to get to everything but just as I found a cash register, my phone rang.

"Hello?" I ask warily, knowing it was Corie.

"Hey, can you get some cookie dough ice cream too?" She asks happily.

I sigh, tired of all of the walking,"Yeah sure."

"Yay! Thank you! Love you." she says, before hanging up.

That girl could go through ice cream quick, considering I had just bought a gallon two days ago.

I quickly roll the cart to the back of the store where the ice cream section was. When I saw all of the ice cream my stomach started to growl. I had to roll the cart a bit for to finds her favorite ice cream, but standing in front of the door was a man. He seemed to be contemplating what ice cream to get.

From the side he looked very handsome. He had a sharp jaw line, with a five o' clock shadow. His hair was dark and a little messy, but cute.He was also really tall, about 6'4 I would guess.He seemed to have sensed my staring as he turned his head to look at me.

I couldn't help but blush as I stuttered,"I-I'm s-sorry, I was j-just um."

He smiled, which was really cute, I was glad he didn't smirk.

"It's alright, I didn't mean to block your way." He says stepping back, and gesturing to the doors,"I can't really decide."

I quickly grabbed two gallons of Corie's Cookie dough ice cream, and nod in thanks.

"That's quite a lot of ice cream." He says staring at me.

"I-it's not for me."

"Then for your husband."

"Um no-"

"Boyfriend?"

"No!"

"Then, girlfriend?"

I looked at him shocked, "N-no, my roommate, she likes ice cream."

He laughs,"I was just kidding about that last one considering-" he gestured down to my baby bump.

I look down to the floor, becoming a little ashamed of what I had done now. I just came to show everyone would think I was a whore now.

"I'm sorry, that was rude of me." He said apologizing with a frustrated face.

"No it's fine, I don't mind." I said lying.

"Would you maybe want to grab a coffee? Or wait I mean juice?" He asks almost flustered.

I smile lightly,"I kind of have a lot of groceries."

"Oh yeah of course, I understand."

"But maybe-"

"I could get you number?" He asks hopefully.

I giggle and feel the heat rising to my cheeks, but nod anyway. Quickly I pull out my phone and he does the same. After we exchange numbers, he shoves his hands in his pockets.

"Um, well bye." I say waving.

"Yeah um, make it home safe." he says smiling but then seems to have an enteral battle.

"That didn't come out as planned." he said blushing.

I smile and continue walking.

"Oh I never got your name!" He calls out.

"Tara, my name is Tara."

He smiles brightly,"Bye Tara!"

I smile and walk the rest of the way to the cash registers. I got checked out in no time and finally started home, smiling the whole way. Maybe things could work out, without Aiden.
