Chapter XIII

I'm so sorry for not updating in awhile, my sincerest apologizes.

Okay and I'm sorry that many of you do not like Asher, he actually has. A great purpose in this book that I think you'll like later on. There will be quite a bit of romance with Asher and Tara. Also in thinking about bringing Aiden in after the baby is born. Just for some drama to add to it.

Chapter XIII

"Asher why did you do that? No take it back!"

"What you don't like it? I can get a new one! Anyone that you want, I promise!"

Tara was almost in tears as she looked at the baby crib Asher had bought for the baby's room. It was a beautiful mahogany brown, it had to have cost him hundreds or so.

"It's to much Asher." She says trying to wipe away all of the tears.

"What do you mean to much? It didn't cost me anything, I promise!" He said wiping her tears away, and kissing her forehead.

"I'll pay you back I promise."

Asher only laughs and shakes his head," Seeing you smile is payment enough, Love."

He swoops into to kiss her cheek making her smile brightly. Asher had finally worked up the guts to ask her to be his girlfriend and she happily said yes.

Anyone could tell that Asher really liked her, Corie and Daniel had even told her so. They said he looked at her as if he had loved her forever.

She herself, didn't know if she loved him, but she knew that she needed him in her life, that was for sure.

He made her happy, it was plain obvious to anyone. He was always so adamant on having everything ready for the baby, and making sure she was healthy. Sometimes when they were alone he would caress her baby bump and talk to the baby like they had been friends for years. Asher treated the baby almost like it was his. He had claimed the baby as his multiple times to save her the embarrassment of it being a baby without a father. Sometimes, Tara really wished it was his.

"Very smooth." She says with a laugh.

Asher leans in to kiss her forehead, then nose, and finally planting a huge kiss on her lips.

"So what time is your sonogram tomorrow?" He asks, as he sits on the couch.

"9:30, Why?" Tara asks snuggling up to his side.

"Um I was just wondering if maybe I can go with you? You for support and all. I mean women feel weird when they go alone. Right?"

She smiles up at him gleefully,"I would love for you to go."

Asher smiles and leans down to capture her lips with his. Tara couldn't help but smile as he continued to kiss her. He began to smile to as she giggle softly against his lips.

"What?" Asher whispers with a smile, looking into her eyes.

"Nothing, you just make me really, really happy." She whispers back.

"You make me happy too. So, so happy, I don't think you can comprehend that!" He chuckles softly," You don't have to say it back, but I love you Tara. I know we've only known each other for just a little bit but I feel as if I have loved you my whole life."

Tara was speechless as she saw that Asher's eyes were shimmering with unshed tears of love and joy.

"Sorry men aren't supposed to cry are they?" He said wiping at his eyes fiercely.

She didn't hold back a second longer as she leaned forward and planted her lips on his. She knew there was something he wasn't telling her but at the moment she didn't care. No man, besides her father, had even told her they loved her and meant it. At least she hoped he meant it.

Aiden (yay!!)

"What?"

"Look Aiden, brother, I couldn't hold it back any longer. You really f*cked up your chances with her. She's happy, happier than I have ever seen her. Corie showed me pictures of before she met this guy and she was broken, she didn't have the gleam that she had now. I'm sorry but I'm not gonna take that away from her."

"So you're saying that you are not going to help me get my mate?"

The other end of the line was silent before his brother sighed,"Aiden, she's happy. I think you've hurt her enough okay? Let her be happy."

It tore his heart strings as he thought about Tara being with another man, loving another man.

"Please, just tell me she is okay?"

"She's fine, perfectly healthy."

Aiden sighed as he tried to take all of it in. Let go of the chance of being with his mate? Let someone else take hold of her heart? He couldn't do that.

"Daniel please, I can't do that."

"Look at least, well I don't know man. You can't come her until all of the construction is done and I'm not there. I don't know what else to tell you. Do whatever you want I don't care, okay? Just try not to f*ck anything else up okay?"

With their last goodbyes said, they hung up. The weight started to build up on his shoulders, as he processed everything. He was losing his mate to a total stranger. He had to find out more about this guy, that was for sure.
