they four of them say quietly in the car, this time not eagerly awaiting to arrive at their destination. it was time for sapnap and george to go home.
the silence was comforting but none of them were ready to say goodbye yet. they loved hanging out together, they were surprised they weren't sick of each other yet.

"i'm gonna miss this." george sighed, breaking the silence.
"me too." sapnap agreed.
"you guys can come visit anytime, though." ava smiled.
"yeah!" clay beamed, "although, i kinda want to visit brighton next time."
"yes! i can get on board with that." ava agreed.
"i want to see the beach there." sapnap said.
"guess we'll need to make some plans then." george giggled.

the car fell back into silence, then all just enjoying each others presence for the last time for a while.
clay and ava walked the two boys as far as they could go, before the inevitability had to turn around and leave.

george and clay were saying goodbye when ava turned to sapnap,

"i'm going to miss you, nick." she said wrapping her arms around his neck.
"we will call every day. i promise." he said tightly hugging her waist.
"we better." she sighed.
sapnap lifted her head and kissed her on the lips.
"i'll miss kissing you too." he whispered, pulling away.
"yeah." she whispered back.

george gave ava a hug and nick have clay one too before the two boys walked away to their terminals.
"you going to miss him?" clay said turning to ava.
"which one?" she joked.
"you know which one." he teased.
"of course i am." she sighed.
they watched them carefully until they were out of sight.
"come on, let's go." he said patting her back.

the car ride back to avas house was just as quiet as the ride to the airport, although this time home by edward sharpe played quietly in the background.

when they got back to avas, clay helped her clean up the mess the 4 of them had made over the past couple of weeks.

"isn't this george's t-shirt?" ava said picking up a light blue top.
"oh shit, yeah." clay laughed, "i'll keep hold of that for now."
"of course you will." she teased.
"well i guess i better leave you too it now, i've been in your face for the last 2 weeks non stop." he said, signalling he was going to head home.
"wait-" ava paused, "can you stay tonight? i'm not ready to go from being around 3 other people to none in one night."
"sure." he smiled. "wanna order some pizza?"
"you know me so well." she said softly.

they ordered pizza and watched alvin and the chipmunks, a classic. ava sat next to clay, which she hasn't done the whole time, she was always cuddled up to nick.
clay could tell she missed him already, even if it had only been a few hours. he'd never seen her this head over heels for someone, and he'd never seen nick this head over heels for someone either. it was clear they were meant for each other. without a doubt.

"does the internet know you guys are together yet?" he asked, breaking the silence between the two.
"i mean we've never announced it but i think it's obvious." she giggled.
"yeah kinda." he laughed along.
"i don't think we are planning on announcing it, but we aren't keeping it secret. people will just catch on, i guess."
"good plan."
"thank you, i thought of it." she boasted.

ava sat there wishing sapnap was still here. she had no idea how she was going to cope with the next month at least without him. she was going to miss everything about him. his cuddles, kisses, jokes, everything. admittedly she'd still hear his jokes over facetime calls and while recording videos but it wouldn't be the same.

...

ava fell asleep on clays shoulder, he waited a while before he knew she'd be in a deep sleep before picking her up and taking her to her bed.
he loved her so much and genuinely meant it when he said she was like his little sister. sure, he purposely did everything he could to annoy her, and took the piss out of her for everything she did but it was all lighthearted and if anyone even looked at her the wrong way, he'd be there straight away to defend her.
she meant everything to him, and looked at her like he did his own sisters. she was welcomed into the family years ago by his parents, especially after she stayed with them for a while. he was more than grateful for her.

ava woke up in her bed, confused of how she got there, she turned over a went on her phone, three messages.

i know you're probably sleeping but i'm back home now, i know you'd want me to text you so you know i didn't die on the way back lol.

incase you wake up confused, i brought you to bed after you fell asleep lol, you owe me, maybe make breakfast? ;)

just landed, thanks again for letting us stay at yours, owe u big time ava :)

well that explained how she ended up in her bed, she text nick back saying she'd call him after she ate her breakfast. she knew it was still early for him and didn't want to wake him up, after all he'd be tired after travelling. she also messaged george back saying she's glad he got home safely.

she got up and stumbled to the guest bedroom to ask clay what he wanted for breakfast, only getting a groan in return. she giggled and made her way to the kitchen and put some bacon in a frying pan. bacon rolls for breakfast, delicious. miraculously she managed to make said breakfast without any mistakes.

"CLAY BREAKFAST IS READY!" she yelled putting the two plates down on the counter. she took a huge bite and noticed clay coming to sit down next to her.
"why are you shirtless?" she giggled.
"it's hot in there, man." he mumbled.
"even without george there to cuddle?"
"even without george."
"thanks for putting me in my bed by the way." she smiled.
"no problem." he spoke softly before talking a huge bite out of his roll.
"delicious, surprised you didn't burn it." he teased.
"me too."
