Lucifer was now extremely confused.

He had been looking at the two children in front of him for some time now.
It was natural, as they were both in his care at this house.

But over the past few days, there had been a new atmosphere surrounding the two.

Lucifer knew this all too well. It reminded him of Mireya and when they first fell for one another.

He was eleven and his wife was fourteen at that time... but it's different for everyone.

A friend certainly did not look at Azrael the way Shoto did or vice versa.
Friends did not hold hands underneath the table.

You thought you could be sneaky.

He had seen them by the lake from his study, Shoto reading a book on the grass and Azrael lying on her front next to him, her wings wrapped around him protectively.

Lucifer didn't mind their feelings at all but rather he didn't know what to do about it.
He had only one child and this was a completely new thing for him.

What do you tell your daughter about boys? Is there anything to tell them?

"They'll be fine. They are both responsible." He told himself. He had great confidence and trust in the boy who truly was well mannered, if a little naive.

"I need to build water resistance!" Azrael said determinedly. "But you have feathers." Shoto looked at her, leaning against her side on the couch.

"But like flying above it! What if someone is drowning?!" She said, then slumping her face in his lap.

Shoto's eyes widened and he looked in the kitchen behind him. "Azrael." He hissed. "What." Her voice was muffled.

"Your face isn't meant to be there." He hissed.
She then turned shifted to look up at him.

"That's... yeah that's fine." He signed, leaning forward to look directly down at her.

"You know..." He began lightly pulling her curls and watching them spring back.

"I really do feel a lot for you." He said quietly.
She smiled so widely and now that Shoto looked carefully, she did have pointed teeth, just smaller and more ordinary looking compared to her father.
