One Week Later:

I slam the door shut and rush up the stairs.

"Sherlock!" I burst into the living room. He turns towards me with a concerned expression.

"What is it?" He asks at the urgence in my voice.

"John's not home is he?" I ask quickly.

He shakes his head. "No, he left for Dublin about an hour ago. What's the matter?"

"It's Irene." I say, walking forward and holding my up my phone, which was already in my hand. I unlock the screen quickly without turning the phone away from him as I walk closer to him. "I know where she is and...it's not good."

He reads the screen for a moment and turns away. "Not my problem."

"Sherlock!"

"Best not to change destiny, Kate."

"I thought you cared about her!"

"I never said I cared for her."

I hesitate. "She's going to die."

"Like I said," He half-turns to me for a moment. "Not my problem." He turns away. I turn away and start walking out of the living room as he sharply turns to me. "Alright, alright, you got me."

I stop and turn round to face him.

"I want to save her." He admits.

I raise my eyebrows. "Oh really?" I ask. "How can I be sure?"

"You've seen the way I've acted around her." He says. "You know I want to save her just as much as you."

"I believe you." I say a moment later.

"When is the execution?" He asks.

"In three days. John will be back from Dublin in five."

"Well there's no time to waste then, is there?"

On the plane the next day, Sherlock sits next to me as we plan what we expect to happen once we get to Karachi.

"You fill in as the executioner." I say to him. "Right before you execute her, turn sharply, execute everyone else there at the site."

"Where will you be?"

"The man standing across from you when you go to execute her."

"How are you going to-?"

"Dress as a guy." I say. "Duh. I'll be one of the guards. Once you turn to excute everybody else, I'll step in and in the meantime help you and Irene out. There's bound to be at least one vehicle that they've transported her in, I'll get you guys out of there. I know the site, I've been there before."

"When?"

"A little while back. I've delt with a terrorist cell like this before, I've been in that exact site. I know the fastest way to get out of there alive."

He nods. "Good plan."

I smile slightly. "Thanks." I pause. "Have you heard anything from her?"

"No. How did you find out about the execution?"

"She texted me. Sent a photograph too as proof that it wasn't a lie. She tried to text you but it would only send to one person. She chose to send it to me. As you know, the text was very brief, and in code so any members of the terrorist cell wouldn't have been able to figure it out when they got hold of her phone."
