6. A Trip

Remina's POV:-

I entered the home with my dad. Today I signed the papers of my property and grandpa's house is on my name now.
We entered the lounge and I collapsed on the sofa.
Dad sat there too.

"Dad, did you ever meet grandpa?" I asked.

"Yes, I have met him a few times".

"So, what was he like" I asked him because I was so shocked for the last few days that I had a grandfather.

"He was a nice person and he was a professor but he was strict that's what caused your grandmother's and his divorce, and after the divorce he left the city to live in that house and he never returned not even to see your mother". He became sad and after a few moments he started again "your mother missed him a lot but he never tried to contact her".

I nodded and went to the kitchen to bring glasses of orange juice for us.
When I came back he said " now we have to submit your forms in medical University".

"Ugh I'm still dreading joining med school" I said grumpily.

But then suddenly an idea hit me.

"Dad why don't we go have a look at that house, it would be a trip" I said excitedly.

"Ina, don't b mad, we don't even have the keys yet and I've a lot of work at the office" He said.

"Dad please"

"No, not now may be after a few months".

"Dad then I'd have started med school and I won't have time" I pleaded.

"Ina focus on your career, forget about the house" he said and went in his study.

I sat there for a while tried to figure a way to visit the house. An idea hit and I ran to lily's home.

"Lily that's a great plan we'll go there with driver"

"And if driver told your dad, what then?"

"We won't tell him beforehand where we're going, we will just say that we're going for shopping" I said in duh tone.

"Okay I'll be ready tomorrow at 4 p.m" lily said.

Next day I got ready exactly at 4 p.m and called lily. She came after a few minutes. I asked the driver to bring the car. We sat and driver started the car.

"Where to miss?" He asked.

"To my new home?" I said.

"But that is very far away, it'd take almost 2 hours to reach there miss Ina".

"Its okay just take us there".

After almost an hour we reached there.
Lily and l got out of car.
There was a huge lawn and house was quite far away.

"Its all mine" I said proudly.

Lily chuckled at my response.

"Let's go take a look at the house"

"No Ina we shouldn't go there, what if this house is haunted" she said scared.

"My house is not haunted" I said and continued walking towards the house.
Lily forbade me but I kept on moving at last she started walking with me too.

We reached there and saw the house that was huge almost like a mansion.
We peeked inside the window. I was amazed at the interior but suddenly Lily started screaming I saw that there was man standing inside and he saw Lily and rushed to come out I pulled Lily and we both started running towards the car but I felt that he started running after us and shouted to stop.

"Don't look back and just run" I said to Lily.

After a few minutes we reached the car and sat inside and driver immediately started the car and we left the house.

"I told you that, house was haunted but you never listen to me" lily said panting.

"House is not haunted Lily" I exasperated.

"Then who was that man in the house?
Your grandfather is dead".

I remained silent because I he was and what was he doing in my home and can't ask dad about it he'd kill me. So I should just leave it be.

1 month later

Today's the day I was dreading the most
Its my first day of medical school and remained wide awake the whole night due to the anxiety.
A few minutes later my alarm rang. I turned it off and got of my bed lazily, finished my morning routine and got ready.

I came downstairs and dad was making breakfast.

"Hurry up Ina, or you'll be late on your first day".

I ate silently.

"Now come on wear your overall and come outside I'm waiting for you in car".

After 20 minutes I reached there. I saw a lot of people in overalls rushing inside. My heart rate increased.

"I know you can do this Ina, you are a strong girl" dad said smiling.

"Thanks dad" I said and got out of the car.

I reached inside the auditorium where all the freshers were gathered. I talked to few students and felt a little relieved.
Ceremony started and we took our hippocratic oath.

Then we got our schedule of classes, tutorials, practicals and the thing that I feared the most was the dissection hall.

Classes passed and the time came to go to dissection Hall. The thought of seeing cadavers was giving me chills so I just stood outside. But a new friend Anna whom I met today came out and dragged me inside.

I entered and the smell of formaline hit my nostrils and I wanted to throw up.

I walked to the dissection table where a few students were gathered and professor was demonstrating the anatomy on a cadaver.

The moment I reached there and I saw the dead body I collapsed.

....

When I woke up I was in hospital and dad was sitting there.

"Thank god, you woke up Ina" dad said.

"That was dreadful" I said.

"Its okay, you'll get used to it" dad said

I stood up and we went home.

I went to lily's home and told her everything but she had a crisis of her own.

"Please Ina, let me make your sketch" she pleaded.

"No lily, you know I can't sit still and you can't make a portrait of a moving person" I said

"Then what should I do" she almost cried.

I felt bad.

"I have an idea, let's make a sketch of your dad" I said enthusiastically.

I picked up the pencil and drew a circle for face and even bigger circle for his body. Lily was laughing hard at my sketch but at the very moment the door opened and his dad walked in.

I stood in front of the sketch and hoped that he won't see the sketch.

He talked to lily and went away.
We collapsed on bed and laughed.

I hoped that we both enjoy our time at university.

I came home ate dinner and went to bed with determination that next day would be better and with that I drifted to sleep.
