11. First Day

Remina's POV:-

I had made my decision and I was waiting to tell dad. I went into the lounge where he was checking some emails on his laptop.

"Dad I have decided to take residency in pediatrics. My friend from medical school Dr Sarah Hall is also gonna do  residency in pediatrics. So we both applied for it and today I was accepted by National Hospital NYC. I'm starting on Monday" I said.

"I'm proud of you dear. I know you'll be a great doctor on day" he said with a glimmer in his eyes.

"I don't know about that but you have to go and eat ice cream with me" I said smiling.

"Oh Ina, when will you grow up. Who would even consider you a doctor?" He said laughing.

"What's wrong with eating ice cream?" I said pouting.

"Okay okay. Call lily too and then let's go" he said.

A few minutes later lily came at my place. I sat on the driver seat, dad on the front seat and lily in the back.

We reached at a famous ice cream parlour but all the parking spots were occupied. I took my car to the parking of a bank right next to it. There was only one spot left and a black range rover was about to park there when I overtake it and parked there. I saw from my mirror that person with icey blue eyes were staring angrily at me. I was thinking that he would come here any minute to insult me But he drove away after a few minutes.

"Ina you would have caused a fight here" Dad said.

"But it was impressive uncle isn't it? Lily said.

"Yeah stealing someone's parking spot is impressive, right" he said huffing.

Me and lily laughed and then we all went into the shop.

Monday

"Ina hurry up! its your first day of job. Come out quickly or you are gonna be late" Dad knocked at me bedroom door.

I came out running and chugged a cup of coffee that dad has made and skipped the breakfast.

"If you got up early, you could have done your breakfast. Now you will drive fast too" he said while I ran outside.

Dad came running after me.

"Take your white coat" he said handing over my coat.

I took it and put it on the front seat and drove my car as fast as I could.
I was still 15 minutes late.
I called Sarah and she came outside to accompany me.

"Why are you so late?" She said panicking.

"I'm just 15 minutes late" I said.

"Well 15 minutes are a big deal in pediatrics department. You should thank God that head of department isn't here yet" she said .

"Why are you so afraid of him?" I exasperated as we moved towards the conference room.

"Well i heard that new HOD is very cruel. He fired a second year resident a few days ago because he was a bit late for the meeting" she told me and we entered the conference room and took our seats.

"You ladies should be a bit punctual because Dr Ramsey isn't very forgiving" a guy said, he was standing near the podium.

He had black hairs that were styled perfectly to side, almond  complexion, brown eyes that looked kind, a button nose and small pouty lips. He was wearing dark blue scrubs underneath a crisp and well pressed white coat. He was about 30 years old. He's so cute. I thought.
