Ian's POV:-

He gave this house to his granddaughter. Mr Adams words rang again and again.

I couldn't believe it. He didn't share the biggest secret of his life with me.

I was walking in the lawn floods of memories clouding my mind.

We were so happy here as if there was no sorrow in the world.

I went to his room. Sat on the sofa there and a beautiful memory came into my mind.

"What are you doing dad?"

"Wearing socks"

"One black and other blue"

"Finding socks is very hard, you know"

"Give it to me"

I found the right pair and gave it to him

"You are more needed here than hospital"

"A doctor is not needed in hospital, seriously" I said laughing.

Today these memories are making me sad. Because I have to leave it. I have to give it to an unknown girl. Who doesn't know what this house means to me. She won't value it like I value it. Because it was my only home.

I brought all the boxes inside to start packing. I started packing dad's stuff.
I opened his wardrobe. There were his clothes. I remembered a very cute memory.

"Dad are you ready" I said entering his room.

He was adjusting his tie.

"Yeah I'm ready. Let's go" he moved towards the door.

I started laughing.

"What happened Ian?"

"That coat" I laughed.

"Huh what happened to my coat" he said surprised.

"That coat won't look so bad, if you had worn it with a pair of pants" I pointed towards his shorts.

"Ugh I forgot it. Don't worry you'll forget things too when you'll get old" he laughed and went towards the bathroom.

I collected all of his stuff and packed it in boxes. I finished packing his stuff when the door bell rang.

I went outside to open the gate.
It was Max. He parked his car and came towards me and hugged me tightly.

"Ian where have you been?
Why aren't you coming to hospital?
Its been 3 weeks."

"Come on in we will talk there" we went inside and sat in the living room.

"What's up with these boxes?" He asked

"Packing all the stuff "

"But why?"

"Because I'm leaving"

"Where are you going?" He got surprised.

"I'm going to London for my sub speciality training"

"But you can do it here. Why do you need to go to London" he tried to convince me.

"I just want to change the atmosphere. I'm feeling quite depressed here" I tried to reason.

"I know you are sad right now but it'll be alright after some time".

"I've already resigned from the hospital. There's no turning back".

"Think about it again, man".

"I've already decided and may be after a few years I'll come back".

"Maybe?? I don't know what got into you?"

"I'm fine bro. Don't worry".

"Okay then, I should go. If you need anything call me". He left.

I wanted to tell him everything but couldn't because he'll ask questions for which I don't have any answers.

So I would just leave like this and maybe never come back.

I went to my room and started packing all my stuff.I saw that file resting on my table. I picked it up and opened it. I signed those papers and put it aside.

But there was the letter he left for me I picked it up.
Dad you probably wrote an apology but I can't forgive you for this. Maybe I wasn't a good son to you so, you couldn't forget your blood relations who left you. But I was always there for you. I always did what you wanted me to do. I became a doctor because it was your wish.

I put that letter in my bag without reading it.

In the meantime the door bell rang and it was Mr Jackson

"Hello Mr Jackson".

"Hello Ian"

"Please come inside".

"So where are you going Ian? Have you bought a house?"

"Actually I'm going to London"

"London?"

"Yeah there's nothing left for me here"

"Okay as you wish son".

"I have signed the papers" I put the file in front of him.

He picked up the file and took out the papers of this house and gave that file back to me.

"Every thing else is yours Ian".

"Mr Adams you are his closest friend. Can you tell me something?"

"Yeah sure son?"

"From where he brought me?" I asked

"Why are you asking now Ian?"

"Because for the whole life I thought I was his son, his everything but I was just a companion whom he brought for his loneliness".

"Please don't think like that Ian"

"Please tell me Mr Jackson who were my parents?" I pleaded.

"I don't know Ian".

"You are his closest friend. He must have told you something?"

"He went to a conference abroad and you came with him".

"Where?"

"I don't remember that".

"What did he tell you about my parents?"

"He didn't tell me anything. He just said that you're his son. I didn't ask anything else".

I sighed. If he didn't tell him than he wouldn't have told anyone else.

"When will you come back from London?"

"I don't know maybe never"

He looked at me as if he wanted to say something but he didn't.

"Okay then I should go now" he stood up "Good bye Ian" he hugged me and left.

I completed all the packing with in two days. I covered all the furniture with sheets.

I was in the kitchen when I noticed someone outside the window. I went towards the window and looked outside. I saw a girl with brown wavy hairs. She panicked on seeing me and started screaming.

I ran outside and saw two girls running towards the gate one with brown wavy hairs and the other with jet black hair.

"Hey wait, who are you?" I started running after them but they sat in their and ran away.

"That's weird" I came inside and collected all my stuff and put it in the car.

I looked at my house for the last time and started my car and left.
