18. A Visit to Devils Den

Remina's POV:-

I woke up as usual and got ready to go to the hospital. I went into the kitchen and made some breakfast for me and dad.
I finished setting the table, when dad entered the kitchen.

"Where's that old Ina gone? Who would make fuss in the morning, who would wake up late and with a splash of water?" Dad looked at me lovingly.

"When that Ina became Dr Remina" I said smiling.

"That's fair" he nodded and started eating. I ate too and then left for hospital.

I was standing at the reception and was filing the discharge notes of a patient when I heard Dr Dave walking in the corridor. A nurse was also passing by. He stopped her and
asked "Wher is the devil?"

"Dr Ramsey is not coming today" she told him.

"What happened is it war? Or a storm? Or an earthquake?" He said shocked "or the world is at end? How in the heavens is that possible? Dr Ramsey is taking a leave?" He said dramatically.

"He's not well today. He has a fever" she told him.

"How is that possible. I thought fever was also afraid of him?" He said laughing and nurse went away and he called someone and then came towards me.

"An unusual thing happened today" He said to me while standing by me at the reception.

I didn't say anything and continued filing the notes.

"Stop all the work today and go to some shopping or outing. In short you can do whatever you want today" he said casually.

"Why?" I asked still focused on the file in front of me.

"Dr Ramsey is ill today. So, he's not coming" he said scrolling his phone.

"What happened to him?" I looked up immediately and said it shocked.

"Why are you so concerned?" He raised his eyebrow and stared at me teasingly.

"Why shouldn't we be concerned. He's our boss" I said and again tried to read my file. He kept staring at me. I ignored him for 2 minutes but then looked up and asked "why are you looking at me like this?"

"I'm thinking if I should tell you or not!" He said a bit sadly.

"Why, what happened?" I said.

"He's very very sick" he said sadly.

"He was fine yesterday" I said shrugging.

"Its a matter of moments Dr Remina" he said clicking his tongue.

"What happened Why aren't you telling me clearly?" I said a bit irritated.

"Looking at your pale face, I don't want you to worry more" his expression gloomy.

"Please tell me what happened to Dr Ramsey?" I asked again politely. But I was now worried about dr Ramsey

"He has very highly fever. He's in so much pain that you can't imagine" he said gloomily.

"You're joking" I said and picked up my file again.

"No I'm serious. I think we should visit him" he suggested.

"I don't think it's a good idea" I said thinking if we should go to his home or not.

"Its called manners Dr Remina" he said and I contemplated.

"I'm going if you want to come then let's go" he said and straightened up to leave.

"Okay but I think we should tell Dr castro" I suggested.
