"You can consider this my second home" Hermione says laughing.
I'd asked Sirius and Remus to check my mother's diary for her maiden name and all they could find was the name Steerling. Hermione made quick work of the information and had me looking in a section of the library when I see Draco Malfoy and his friends approaching me.
"Is it true then? You're really a Black?" he asks.
I push a strand of hair out of my face and look at him and nod.
"Your father would be disappointed to see the friends you've made."He sneers. I shrug and continue to look for books.
"Why must you ignore me?" Draco says pushing my shoulder causing me to fall.
I look up at him confused. I've never had a man put his hands on me. I pull out my wand and point it at him.
"I don't know what I've done to you but stay away from me." I demand feeling myself tearing up.
"You're supposed to be MY family, not Potters." he whines.
"What do you mean? I'd be nice given the chance. If I recall correctly, you're the one who made the line clear." I say firmly.
He shoos off his hooligan friends and sits down next to me running a hand through his hair.
"Look, I'm sorry. I just find out Ihave a cousin and our dads were good friends, you know. Then, you're already friends with St. Potter and his entorauge." he tells me gently now.
"Violence isn't the answer Draco. If you'd come talk to me like this I would have been more than happy to talk to you." I say realizing his jealousy of Harry.
"What're you doing here anyway?" he asks.
"Looking up information on my father, so if you know anything." I ask gesturing to the books.
"You're dad was on our side. He hated Mudbloods until he just disappeared. That's what my dad tells me anyway." he tells me.
"Draco, I'm not going to lie to you. I don't believe any of that nonsense." I tell him.
"I could tell. You hanging with Granger and Weasleys all the time." he says looking down.
"I'm an orphan, what makes me better than them?" I ask.
"Your blood. I don't know you're mother but you're at least halfblood." Draco says as if it wasn't obvious.
I shrug. "Does that make me any better? I'm in my sixth year and I'm pretty sure Hermione could pass the N.E.W.T.s. You need to understand my parents didn't teach me that."
I lean forward to get a better look of his face and see him crying. I wipe a tear from his eye and his torso crashes onto my chest knocking me back. I hold him as tight as Ican while he sobs.
He calms down shortly after.
"I don't want to think any of it. My parents are the reason I'm like this. Constantly saying our purity is what makes us above others. You can't tell anyone of this conversation." he says still crying slighltly.
I hold him and stroke his hair and say I understand. He leaves and rejoins his friends as Hermione walks closer to me. She looks at me and I shake myhead not wanting to ruin the bond I'd formed with my cousin.
"Okay, so I found this book on Merlin and figured maybe it would be a good start." she tells me. I thank her and hug her.
"Let's go find Ginny, I hear you have a date coming." she winks at me.

That afternoon we sat as the potential Champions submitted thier names. Fred and George asked me to put theirs in and I declined. I wasn't going to mess up this chance Ihad. They decided to try an aging potion.
"It isn't going to work." Hermione sang.
"Why is that dear Hermione?" Fred asks her.
"You see this.' she says pointing to the line," That is an age line. Dumbeldore drew it himself. Surely he wouldn't be fooled by such a dimwitted idea."
"That's why it will work." George says.
"Because it is so pathetically dimwitted." Fred says as they hook their arms and take it.
They pass the line and the crowd cheers but suddenly they are shot back as long beards grow on their faces and they argue about who was wrong. The crowd goes silent as Viktor Krum enters. He glances at Hermione and smirks as he enters his name. I nudge her leg after he leaves and she mouths 'we'll talk later.' I nod excitedly.

Later that week it was time to draw the names of the Champions. The flames rose and shot out the names Fleur Delecour- Beauxbatons, Viktor Krum- Durmstrang, and Cedric Diggory-Hogwarts. I'd met Cedric and had a few small conversations during the Quidditch Game but that was the extent of it.
Cedrics friends cheered him on as he was the last student to go into the back room. Suddenly the flames rose and Dumbeldore yelled for Harry. I looked on concerned and figured I'd write Uncle Sirius right away. I watched as Snape, McGonagall, and Dumbeldore rush into the back room.
The creepy DADA teacher told us all to be quiet and go back to our common rooms as the chaos calmed down. Hermione told me I'd missed the announcement of the DADA teacher because he came befroe I was sorted.
"Anywho, you're date with Charlie what are you going to wear?" Hermione asks.
"Anywho, tell us about Krum."I taunt back as our group gets into our room.
"Yes, Hermione, tell us about Krum." Ginny teases.
"There's not much to tell. He sits with me when I study and we talk." she says blushing.
Ginny and I roll our eyes but decide to let it go since Harry had walked through the door. Ron was jealous and decided he wasn't going to talk to Harry. The twins weren't convinced that he didnt' submit his name but were thrilled a Gryffindor had been entered none the less.
I took the chance to run upstairs and write Sirius about the event and sent Felicity and told her to make it quick. I worry for that boy.
