The night of the ball was here. Ginny and Hermione showed me how to do the spell on my hair. My hair was curly naturally but now it was tamed and gently shaped around my face. I wore the dress Charlie and I had picked out and wore a necklace from Ginny.
"You look like a princess." Hermione giggled.
"You two look even better. Neville and Krum will be in awe." I say. Truely, they did.
Ginny wore her hair straight and had gone with an emerald green dress and Hermione wore a periwinkle dress and her hair half up. Ginny spelled makeup on us.
Finally happy with how we look, we go down to the steps in front of the Great Hall. I knew Hermione would be a show stopper so Ginny and I decide to go down first. I see Draco at the bottom of the steps and offer a small wave. He waves back and mouths 'nice dress'. I smile and finally see Charlie talking to the twins. Ginny sees Neville and tells me she'll catch up later.
I tap on his shoulder and he spins around and hugs me.
"You're more beautiful than I could've imagined." he says. Charlie is wearing a black suit with a pearl white tie. His hair was gelled back and it showed off his earring I loved so much. He offers his arm to mean and I see his rings glint in the candle lighting. We walk into the room and see it fully decorated into a winter wonderland.
I point to the door and we see Hermione on Krums arm offering me a small smirk. Ron's mouth dropped open when he'd seen her. The champions walked in and lead a dance. After Dumbeldore offered his hand to McGonagall we all join in.
Charlie helped lead me and laughed as I stepped on him once. We had a lot of fun trying to coordinate my dancing. A fast song comes on and he offers to get drinks and I sit with Harry and Ron. Hermione sees me and walks over with us.
"Drinks?" I raise my eyebrow to her.
She nods."This is so fun. Isn't it?" she says looking around the room.
"Yeah, bloody great." Ron pouts.
"Ron, don't ruin her night. Get the stick out your ass next time and ask her. A girl won't wait around forever." I retort before he could upset Hermione.
Hermione offers a smile and we see Krum and Charlie walking toward us together. I smirk at Hermioen and glance in the boys direction. Harry and Ron moved tables to sulk as their dates got taken by Durmstrang boys.
"So, Krum we'll need to have a small get together than and play a round." Charlie says setting my drink in front of me and kissing my temple.
"'vat would be vondervul." Krum nods in approval. He takes Hermione's hand and bids us a goodbye as they return to dancing.
I turn to Charlie and see him staring at me. I get nervous and take a sip of my drink.
"Is there something on my face?" I ask confused.
"No, love. I'd just like to take a walk with you after this if that's okay." he asks.
I nod and we dance for a couple of hours and as the crowd begins to thin out he takes me down the third floor hallway.
"I need to ask you something. I'd overheard you yell at Ron, and Ithink you're right." he tells me.
"Uh, can you be more specific." I laugh out." I say alot of things to Ronald."
"Well, the part about getting up and asking Hermione. Which leads me to you. I don't want to let the chance go by. I'm sure my siblings can tell you, but I've never been like this with anyone."he says now nervous. I don't thnk I'd registered any times of him being nervous, but Merlin, did he do it well.
"I really like you, Saiph. Can I call you my girlfriend?" he asks now staring right at me.
A wicked blush creeps across my face and I nod. He grins and pulls me in for a kiss.
"I was so bloody nervous you'd say no." he tells me giggling.
"Me? Say no to you?" I ask confused.
"Merlin, and things like this are so cute. Yes, I'd thought you wouldn't want me. I don't exactly have a lot to offer. My job keeps me in Romania alot and you know my family isn't very well off." he says looking away now.
Pulling his face back to me I look at him full of concern.
"Charlie, material things mean nothing. I like you for who you are. If you ask me you're better off than you imagine. Your family is so accepting and full of love. I'm honored to have even met you." Itell him.
"How did I ever get so lucky?" he asks me, leaning his forehead on mine.
"Did you wish on a shooting star?"I joke. He kisses me again more passionately. We soon pulls away and he takes me into a nearby classroom.
"So your family, what's going on?" he asks.
I take the time to explain and he listens carefully. When I finish he just pulls me in for a hug.
"I'm sorry you're going through all of this." he says running his hand on the top of my head.
I feel tears threating to escape as I hold him tighter.
"Shh. You can let it out, you're okay." Charlie whispers and that's all it takes.
In the empty classroom I finally just cry. I didn't have anything specific I was crying for but between the John and Wendy stuff, never actually mourning my parents death, my life changing and coming here had finally hit me. I cried for a bit and then took a deep breath and pull back and smile at him. He was my person. Charlie Weasley.
I look at him carefully. He offered me a small smile and ran circles on the back of his hands. I decided there that I'd never let him go.
"Charlie?" I ask him.
He hums in repsonse and cocks his head to the side.
"I really like you."
