Y/N POV i was sitting on the couch, scrolling through pinterest as usual. everything about this app is amazing, i've practically planned my whole life in here. Finn was in the other room playing video games, and i could hear him shout and get pissed at the game. just the usual.
while i was scrolling, i came across a cute minimalist cake; it caught my eye. i clicked on the picture and scrolled down to see more similar types of cakes. they were all so aesthetically pleasing to look at, and looked delicious.
suddenly, i felt two arms embrace me from behind and a peck on my head. i smiled knowing it was Finn of course, and turned around to look at him.
"hey baby, you done playing games?" i said while lightly messing with his hair.
"yep pretty much and i missed youuu" he said while pouting.
"i missed you so much more!!" i replied, meaning it.
"what were you up to?" he curiously asked.
"i was just going through pinterest, looking at these cute cakes" i said and showed him the whole pinterest board i just created full of the minimalistic cakes.
"oh wow these look great!! why don't we try to make one, since you love them so much?" he suggested.
"ooh sure!! let's make this one" i said and showed him a cake with white frosting that had strawberries on top.
"perfect! i think we already have cake ingredients and frosting, and if we don't burn down the kitchen then we'll be fine." he added.
"i'm sure we won't, now come onnnn" i whined and dragged him to the kitchen.
Finn got the cake mix from the cupboard while i got eggs from the fridge, and other required ingredients to make the cake.
next, we added everything to a bowl and mixed the batter using a cake mixer. Finn took some of the batter and ate it while saying:
"it's soooooo good"
"you weren't supposed to eat it Finn!!"
"yOu wErEnT sUpPoSed tO eAt iT FiNn"
i glared at him for mocking and continued to mix the batter, making sure Finn wouldn't eat any more of it, no matter how much he whined.
eventually we put the cake in the oven and started working on the frosting. and cutting up the fresh strawberries.
while cutting the last strawberry i had, my phone alarm rang, which meant that it was time to take out the cake. Finn put on the oven mittens and took the cake out, and an amazing aroma filled the kitchen, it smelled amazing.
"oh my godddd y/n look at our precious baby!!"
"it's so beautiful"
"i know i know"
we waited 10 minutes for the cake to cool down and added the frosting, and the strawberries. i got my phone to look at the pinterest one and compared it to ours. we took many pictures of it before we finally ate it.
"it's literally identical to ours!!" i told Finn
"exactly! now open wideee"
Finn fed me a piece of the cake and put some frosting on my nose while laughing. It was better than i imagined.
"this is fucking delicious y/n!! we're like professional bakers now!!"
"i agree!! this may be the best cake i've ever had"
"it really is!!" he replied and kissed my forehead
"i love you Finn" i said and hugged him tightly
"i love you so much more"
we both spent the rest of the afternoon eating our cake and spending our time together; enjoying every moment.
