Richie and y/n were sleeping peacefully in their bed, after a long and exhausting day. they had their baby two weeks ago, and it had been very tiring and their sleep schedule was messed up. taking care of a baby was way harder then they had ever expected.
y/n was sleeping comfortably until she heard the sound that she dreaded every single night. the baby was crying again; y/n was annoyed and didn't want to get up from her comfortable bed but of course she had to.
y/n sighed and sat up; she rubbed her eyes, and mumbled cursed words, until she heard Richie saying,
"go back to sleep, i got it"
"are you sure?"
"yeah just rest, i know you're tired"
"alright thanks Rich"
Richie got up from the bed, while y/n lay back down.
it was a really quiet night, the only sound in the whole house, were the baby's loud and whiny cries.
Richie picked his son up and started rocking him back in forth and walking around the room.
"it's okay it's okay, calm down" he said in a sleepy voice.
y/n couldn't go back to sleep and heard Richie attempting to stop the cries, but it didn't work.
"god just fucking go back to sleep already" Richie told the crying baby in annoyance.
the cries got louder; Richie was exhausted and sat on the floor, giving up.
"give him to me" he heard y/n say.
Richie got up and handed him to y/n. y/n started calming him down and eventually the crying stopped, and their baby was finally asleep.
"how do you do that? everytime i try he just doesn't go back to sleep!" Richie whispered.
"he's just a mama's boy" y/n told him and kissed her sons forehead.
"like me" Richie replied, laying his head on y/n's shoulder and looking at their sleeping baby.
"yes just like you" y/n said and gave Richie a kiss on the cheek.
Richie smiled at her and caressed his son's cheek while saying,
"i love my little boy, even though he can be a pain in the ass at night"
"i know i know" y/n replied while chuckling.
Richie took him, gave him a kiss on the cheek and put the sleeping baby back into his tiny crib.
y/n hugged Richie when he came back to bed, and they finally slept peacefully together while their baby did too at last.
