it was a beautiful spring day; Miles and his sister Flora were out enjoying their day, and picking up a few things they needed in the shops nearby.
they hadn't spent much time together like this in a while. usually Flora had studies, and Miles wasn't home, and even if they were together they didn't go out of the house often. so today was a special day for the both of them to spend some quality time together.
"and then Kate took me out to go get ice cream as a treat for being good!" Flora told Miles, in an enthusiastic manner.
"that's so great!" Miles replied while smiling at her.
"yep! alsoooo" Flora said.
"also..?" Miles asked her.
"can we go get some cookies? i'm kinda hungry" Flora exclaimed.
"i don't know Flor, we already passed most of the shops sorry" Miles told her.
"but pleaseeeeee" Flora whined and pulled on Miles' sweater.
"alright fine" Miles said and held her hand to go find the nearest bakery.
they looked around for a while, but couldn't find any bakeries. soon they decided to just walk back, until they came across a small bakery, they hadn't noticed before. it seemed new, and almost hidden.
Flora got excited and quickly dragged her brother to the bakery so they could get the cookies.
they walked into the bakery, and smelt the strong aroma of the baked goods. Flora started looking around at all the cookies, cakes, and colorful sweets that were displayed. meanwhile Miles was looking around to see if anyone had worked there, since it seemed quite empty.
suddenly, he noticed someone behind the counter decorating a huge cake. he took a look and felt himself blushing from how pretty the girl was.
she came out behind the counter and went over to Flora; giving her a cookie.
"how do you like these?" she asked Flora with a smile.
"i love them!!" Flora replied excitedly.
Miles smiled at both of them, already liking the girl.
he noticed that her name tag was written 'y/n'. that's a pretty name he thought.
y/n put some of the cookies into a small pretty box, and handed it to Flora. Miles walked over and started taking out cash to pay.
"i noticed you staring at me" y/n pointed out.
"oh yeah...sorry about that" Miles replied feeling embarrassed.
"it's fine, don't worry about" y/n said smiling.
Miles smiled back and took the box from her, held Flora's hand and walked out of the bakery while saying goodbye.
while walking back, Flora was talking more about her studies that day; suddenly Miles noticed something written on the box of the cookies.
Y/n had put her number so he could talk and see her again. Miles felt really happy and it was showing; Flora noticed and asked,
"why so happy Miles?"
"oh it's nothing. nothing at all Flor" Miles replied while smiling to himself.
