y/n l/n had a peculiar life, she had lived many decades without aging. how was this possible? y/n herself didn't know, it was quite a miracle.
many years ago she went on a drive in the snow and got into an accident and fell into a lake. she supposedly died, but a lightning had struck her and from that moment on, she stayed the same age for many years.
it wasn't easy, y/n had to keep changing identities often so that nothing seemed strange. she had been doing it for as long as she could remember.
now, she was trying her best to stay away from most people and live her life. until one day she happened to go into a vinyl store, looking for some of her favorite music.
y/n had eventually picked out what she needed, and went to the cashier.
"good choice" someone said behind her.
y/n turned around, and was faced with a man quite older than her but looked and sounded rather familiar.
the man stood in shock, the moment she turned around. y/n was confused as to why this was happening.
"is everything alright?" y/n replied.
"y/n....is that you?" the familiar man said.
"i-i'm sorry, i don't know who you are talking about" y/n replied, panicking.
"it is!! don't you remember who i am? i'm Miles, Miles Fairchild" the man said.
y/n was confused and remembered a flashback from many many years ago.
flashback
this was a few years before y/n's car accident. Miles was waiting by the tree that he and y/n first met at. he was going to propose to her, he had been planning it for months. this was going to be the best decision he was ever going to make, he thought.
y/n was in a car and when she got to the tree, she saw Miles with the engagement ring and told the driver to move past him, not wanting to accept his proposal. since that moment she never returned. she broke his heart and he never forgot it. even after getting married and having kids, Miles never forgot about her and how she left.

"m-miles... i'm...." y/n said nervously.
"you left" Miles said.
"no it's not like that-" y/n replied.
"and how the fuck is it possible that you look the same and so young? how?! explain damn it!!" Miles yelled in anger.
y/n dragged him out of the store, and hesitated but she finally told him the truth. that she did leave, and how she was incapable of aging, and there wasn't anything she could do about it.
Miles could barely believe what he was hearing, and stayed silent for a while. then, he started talking about his own life, how he got married, had kids now and was growing old.
"there wasn't a day where i didn't stop thinking about you y/n" Miles said with tears in his eyes.
"i'm sorry Miles, i wish i never left" y/n replied hopelessly.
"but you did. you broke me, and even after all these years, i'm not over it. maybe we just weren't meant to be..." Miles admitted.
"i guess not, but i'm happy for you Miles, i am" y/n said.
"yeah well there isn't much we can do now. but you should stop running away y/n, stay and live a proper life, try to be with someone. how long are you going to get away with this? just stop before you hurt more people" Miles advised her.
y/n stayed silent and looked down, knowing he was right.
"just think about it, and if you need me, you already know where my house is" Miles said and walked away from her.
y/n watched him go and thought maybe just maybe if she stayed and accepted his proposal that day, things could've been different.
